Jess Atkin – vocalist
Jess has formed a key part of the local contemporary group Blvd.Nights for the last 4 years, bringing to the group her bluesy, soulful sound which also represents her strong jazz influence. Her blonde hair and fair looks belie her power and timbre as she delivers a punchy frontline to this exciting group’s rock/ska/funk crossover sound.
She has also performed on many occasions with other experienced jazz/blues players and ensembles, like The Dave Atkin Group, at major events like ‘Jazz in the Park’ and the now internationally recognised ‘Art Deco Weekend’.
Jess recently performed a stand out role in the Tabard Theatre’s production of ‘Music Hall Meets Vaudeville’, proving her ability to adapt to the stage setting yet maintain her unique quality.
Keen to seek new challenges and styles, Jess has just completed a solo set of recordings backed by The Dave Atkin Group which has been widely applauded for its fresh and unique take on some classic standards.
At just 27 years of age her career is set to blossom.
