From breathtaking, piano-based folky pop that seems to match and celebrate the expanses inside of your mind (think Kate Fenner, Jann
Arden, Annie Lennox) to a swaying, groovy step into R&B and even a reach into funk (think a slightly toned down India Arie or Sade), one
thing is for certain- no matter what this talented woman attempts, she's bound to succeed. With a powerful, from-the-gut voice that
carries her through many a genre and with her attention to a solid foundation in songwriting, every element, from jazz to pop, is closely refined and celebrated in this rich, full-spectrum album. - CD Baby
When I stuck this CD in, the first song "Little J" immediately reminded me of Rickie Lee Jones. Jennifer's voice sets a tone that's strong and powerful and lays it all out for those who are listening. The keyboard programming has a diversity that takes me back to the 80's, and the bass player has a cool groove that adds to the mix. - GoGirlsMusic.com
Schooled in classical and jazz traditions, this singer/songwriter/pianist shows she's a deft stylist on her nicely packaged full-length CD featuring "Little J", an affecting, tough-love advice song. That tack is effectively repeated in "Dear One". The Sade-meets-Joni Mitchell "Move" oozes sensuality and (via augmented chords and jazzy timing) suggests Perryman's "grown-ups only" demeanor could appeal to the wandering Ally McBeal crowd. - Music Connection

Bio
Stylistically, my music is really all over the place. My first album is piano-based folky pop that steps into R&B and on into funk. My second album goes off into electronic based funk and dance that is firmly grounded in songwriting. In my newest album, every song is completely different. One song is electronic rock based, other songs are rooted in R&B and gospel, to bits of country and classical.
This may sound strange, but I think that's what sets me apart. If you come to one of my shows, or if you listen to my albums, you're definitely going to go on a musical journey...a journey of moods and styles.
My influences are rooted in classical, jazz, and a love for songwriters...everybody from Cole Porter to Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell to Miguel Migs, Tom Petty to Pink Floyd. Duke Ellington to Ani DiFranco. I am also greatly influenced by any spectacular singer, such as Ann Willson from Heart, Janis Joplin, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Chris Cornell, Donny Hathaway, and the list goes on.
