Jelle

Though a new band (formed in the spring of 2012), Jelle puts on a show that should be seen by everybody. With influences such as rock, blues and reggae, these styles can all be heard in the unique and lovable sound Jelle has created and shared among their growing fan base. Talented in song writing and performing, this energetic bunch are quickly making a name for themselves around their hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.
Jelle’s talent comes from the combined experiences of each of the members, all having prior experience in the local music scene. Whether it was in another band, individually, or in a studio, each member of Jelle has an impressive resume of their own. Singer Michelle Owen began her music career at the age of 17, stepping into the studio for the first time to record her life’s work. Performing in venues such as the el Mocambo, Cest What and local shows at the University of Toronto, Michelle learned her way around the Toronto music scene early in her career. Guitar player Jeff Rinne began his music career playing the drums and guitar in local bands at the age of 14 and quickly gained the experience which lead him to drum for Universal Record’s A is A. After drumming with A is A for ten years, he swapped his drum sticks for a guitar strap, leading him to his current position as Jelle’s guitarist. Bass player Simon Kiela met Jeff early on when he was ask to join A is A. The two played for 2 years together, and after a 3 year hiatus they have finally been reunited. Drummer Jenna Rovinelli has been playing the drums for over 8 years and has played in several bands across Oakville and Toronto. She is a standout among all the mediocre male drummers. Together, this foursome is on their way to something big. Audiences cannot get enough of this band, and they are only just beginning.
Because of the unique combination of talent and experience in this group, these four have managed to form a buzz worthy band. Always eager and ready to play, this band is only beginning a great career in music.
