He can be heard on the radio in Los Angeles and Portland. Jacob Croft, best known in the music world as JC Flow, is an upcoming artist in Seattle, and he's making his dreams come true. Stiletto Woman Correspondent Maureen Francisco talks exclusively with JC Flow on how he balances being a husband, soon-to-be dad, corporate guy, and artist. - Stiletto Magazine
In a somewhat more commercially minded rap vein, you will find a show up at Nectar on Thursday, June 30, with local artists Shorte and JC Flow, who are joining forces to make the most noise possible. They share stylistic similarities—their raps are frenetic, unrelenting, with some strong hooks and melodies, but with verses mostly light on personality, until guest MCs like Spaceman or Tr3 Nut show up; this type of synth-driven kind-of-sounds-like-the-radio rap has been done around here for years, and while it don't speak to me, there's plenty who swear by it. Also performing are Second Family, Vennum, Green Star Majors, and DJ Swervewon. - The Stranger
As you might or might not have seen earlier on the blog, Devin The Dude is bringing his wide-eyed stoner raps to the Nectar Lounge tonight. But what you haven't heard--yet--is the synth-heavy hip-hop of local producer/emcee JC Flow. Developing his craft while playing football on scholarship for Pacific Lutheran University, Flow is equal parts lyricist and songwriter. His debut full-length, Vern Noun Vibe, was made up of three separate pockets: Verb, the lifestyle piece, Noun, the aggressive raps, and Vibe, the radio-friendly component. Tracks like "Eye On You" and "Drinks Up" sound like the polished jams you hear during a night out at the club--and chances are that might've been the case. Flow's cuts might not exactly vibe with The Dude's laid-back vibe, but they've got a hooky, melodic quality that's on par with the ones that end up on KUBE. - Seattle Weekly
