jaranatambo means a gathering with the joyful sound of the beating of the drums. The band was born in the year 2000, and the end of a century marked a time to reflect. With the name 'La Nuestra', the band pulls from influences of rock, blues and funk of the last century. These talented groups of young people propose new sounds, but have old souls. The drums of 'San Jacinto' and the tribal beat begin to make sense on the concept that was being worked. The sounds greet the streets that are blended with the surrounding mountains. It is not the violence but the faith, what brings them together, that recovers them...and through the years, takes them to give birth to what is today known as Jranatamb, the sound of the world, plus a Colombian drum.
In the International Composition Contest (I.S.C) U.S.A 2010-2011, JARANATAMBO managed to become one of the most representative bands of the Latin AmericanCulture and it obtained the BEST WORLD MUSIC COMPOSTITION AWARD ( 3 place )with its song Ooee, recognition that gains even more importance, due to the large amount of candidates, over 15 thousand songs. Ooee is a call from the world to the world, made trough indigenous sounds and urban tunes along with the already established sound of JARANATAMBO, influenced this time by the Brazilian culture.
The group has made a tour of Canada and Usa 2013 afromondo the agency directed by Alex Boicel in NY
