J.T. Manning
J.T. Manning has developed a sound that crosses all genres. An eclectic collaboration, of classic rock, folk, blues and jazz, James Manning tells the stories of our lives through song.
Front Man, J.T Manning is a native of Orange County California and has been described as a visionary with a successful spirit and a golden touch. A successful entrepreneur and businessman from an early age, James has always incorporated his love of music into every endeavor.
J.T has been a singer and song writer all of his life. A singer with exceptional range and control, he credits his mother for constantly exposing him to all kinds of music. His influences include Neil Diamond, Bryan Adams, George Strait, Eagles, Davin McGraw, and Andre Borcelli.
J.T enjoys writing songs that communicate a message and tell a story that he hopes makes a difference in your life.
The Band is comprised of exquisite musicians with various backgrounds.
Magee, great Sax player who has toured with Etta James and Buddy Miles Turner and many other big acts.
Bobby Thompson, Drummer extraordinaire, who has played and toured with many rock, blues, and jazz bands,
Jimmy Roach has over 35 years of experience and a very comprehensive back round in all areas of music. He is a 9 time platinum Guitarist and producer.
Mr. Roachs Professional expertise has led him to play for many prominent Artist over the years such as Bobby Womack, Cecil Womack, Mary Wells, Ike Turner, Red Fox and Linda Cook Womack. Mr. Roach has also produced many hit songs for renouned recording artist Snoop Dogg.
Nathan T. York, Sr. was born to Reverend I.C. York and his wife Cookie. Nathan got his musical influence from his mother, the church pianist. A church deacon played guitar and played it well. He played finger style, like Chet Atkins; this was such a cool sound that Nathan had to learn. Each summer, on a Saturday night, Nathan would go for his lessons. One half hour with guitar and the other half hour listening to Chet Atkins records.
In 1988, after meeting Marty Stewart at a club in Duarte, California, Nathan shipped his Telecaster up to Gene Parsons for a new B bender installation. The B bender is the innovation that allowed Clarence White of the Birds to get all those cool pedal steel licks without having a pedal steel. This helped Nathan maintain the unique country sounds with each group he performed with.
Nathan has had a passion for music and photography, photography was the road he took and for 15 years owned his own Portrait Studio. He received a call one day from a guy wanting to sell some lighting equipment and in conversation the guy mentioned he was selling his MSA S-10 pedal steel. Well this was a no-brainer for Nathan so the transaction was made. That was back in 1990. Today Nathan performs with the J.T. Manning Band with his 1976 Sho-Bud Lloyd Green pedal steel.
J.T has enjoyed bringing his style of music with a message to the masses. He sees himself as a regular guy with a story to tell. He has lived his life with a simple motto:
Anything is possible if youre willing to visualize and take the steps every day towards it. It can be"
