James first started playing in public at the age of eleven when he was invited to play solo to an audience of five thousand at the Cardiff International Arena by the National Symphony Orchestra of London.
Since then he's gone on to support folk icon, Dave Swarbrick, who was one of his inspirations to start playing, perform as a soloist on the BBC Proms In The Park series and feature on MTV.
Whether on the violin or guitar, James's unique style of playing always seems to strike a chord with people from all walks of life. Grappelli nostalgics to people who would never usually consider listening to an instrumentalist. Now he's releasing a new album, Transformations, which includes classics from the world of pop, rock and jazz.
