Bio
Jake Griffing, 22, and Michaela "Jean" Newman, 16, met through their
local church in 2011. They led together in a youth worship band that
year and have been good friends ever since. While also leading in their
church's primary worship band, they began playing the secular music
scene at local restaurants in Georgetown, Texas, in late 2013. They
officially adopted the title "Jake & Jean" in January of 2014. After
collaborating on their first recording project with Loud Bird, "Loud
Church" (find it here),
they began the process of recording their arsenal of original,
mixed-genre songs. They released their debut EP, "Give and Take," on May
30, 2014. They play local gigs monthly, co-write, spend lots of time
outdoors, and look forward to recording future projects.
