"Over the past year, Jade has been releasing some stellar covers, instantly it was obvious that she had some serious vocal talent. She has been teasing original music for some time and now she’s starting to release music that fully showcases her mesmerizing voice." - Brodie Harvey, Lyrical Lemonade
"As travellers walked over with their suitcases to stand by the stage, some sat down on chairs nearby to turn their heads towards the music.
As I watched, it was easy to tell that Monet has natural stage presence and is a very charming performer." - Komal Nowaz, The Scope at Ryerson

Bio
There is only one way to accurately describe Jade Monet; pure soul. Her bright, positive energy is felt immediately upon entering any room. Dig a little deeper, though, and you will find a resilience and edge that has continuously grown stronger throughout her life, starting at 5 years old when she nearly lost her hand in a freak accident. Shortly there afterwards, her father left home, leaving her mother alone to raise 3 kids.
Throughout all the trials and tribulations of her life, one constant remained - singing. It was crystal clear from the beginning that the child born Jade Tjorhom from Half Moon Bay, BC had an incredible natural gift - her voice. Winning competition after competition in her youth helped Jade become extremely versatile in the type of music she could sing - everything from Jazz and R&B to Country and Rock. It was one song in particular, however, that initially sparked her dream and proved to be the winner time and time again - “At Last” by Etta James.
After a period of exploration and self-discovery, Jade Monet has reemerged with a distinct sound and definitive mission; to empower women around the world who are “perfectly imperfect”. Drawing from her own personal battles with body image, Jade plans to use her music as a platform to help positively influence other young women who struggle with the same issues.
An incredibly talented vocalist, her music can be described as “Sabrina Claudio meets Ariana Grande” and often draws comparisons to other R&B/Pop standouts such as Solange, SZA, Kehlani, Jhene Aiko, Jorja Smith, Kali Uchis & Teyana Taylor. She recently performed two showcases as part of Canadian Music Week and before that, as part of Westward Festival in Vancouver. Her debut EP, "Awake & Dreaming" was released in August 2019.
