"Among the young artists making their first appearance at NAMM was Jacob Jeffries, a superb 19-year-old singer-songwriter-keyboardist based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who appeared on Jan. 19. Performing on a prototype of a new Baldwin Gallery Series piano, Jeffries tore through a 25-minute set of brilliant original songs, including the infectious "Wonderful," confessional "And I Say" and poetic "Fairfax." - OC Register
"Bursting with hook-filled melodies and dramatic, instantly likable vocals, the five-song EP foretells a bright future for the piano- popster, who welcomes comparisons to artists such as Ben Folds and Billy Joel. Another three EPs are planned for release in the next few months." - Metromix
"There a solid group of musicians from Broward County (lead singer/pianist Jacob Groten calls Pembroke Pines home) who seem to be coming into their own at the perfect time. " - Miami New Times
"... the Jacob Jeffries Band, who are much more like it. A four-piece from Florida fronted by the engaging, piano-bashing Jeffries, they tap into the classic lineage of ‘70s adult pop (there are traces of Steely Dan, the early years of both solo Paul McCartney and Billy Joel, the humorous literacy of a Randy Newman), and do so expertly – the drummer, a mountain-sized black dude with a top-quality afro is especially diverting – and often excellently." - Q 4 Music

Bio
Jacob Jeffries is a singer/songwriter published by Warner Bros. and sponsored by Baldwin Pianos. He incorporates a unique style of storytelling in his songwriting displayed through captivatingly raw performances. This won him 1st place at the coveted "Eddie's Attic Annual Shootout" a special songwriters competition also won by John Mayer. Bursting with hook filled melodies and dramatic, instantly likable vocals, Jacob captures the best of his influences: from Gavin DeGraw, to Ben Folds, to the Beatles. This recent BMI "Pick of The Month Artist" won the Florida Grammy Showcase for Best New Artist, and was featured on MTV.com with his single "Suffocate My Heart". Jacob's shared the stage with Allen Stone, Eric Hutchinson, Sister Hazel, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Dashboard Confessional, and has been featured in many festivals including South by Southwest, Wanee Music Fest, Sundance Film Fest and CMJ Music Marathon.
2008 started off with a lot of activity for the Jacob Jeffries Band. Jacob headed west to perform at the NAMM Conference in Anaheim, CA, presented by Baldwin Pianos; he performed at BMIs Leaf Lounge during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT; he performed in Austin, TX at SXSW for the BMI Acoustic Brunch and at the Red Gorilla Festival, March 19th he released his debut recording - Life As An Extra (the first of a series of 3 EPs to be released independently over the next 6 months), he became a Baldwin Piano's sponsored artist.
Wonderful is the band's second EP and was released in the summer of 2008. The idea was to follow up in frequent EP's rather than long anticipated LP's ... the way of the business these days I suppose. Wonderful is bursting with pop tracks. The band departed from their bread n' butter ways in Life As An Extra and really tacked on the bells n' whistles for Wonderful. Story songs like "Weatherbee Freeman" are caked with horns and a banjo to give a real circus vibe. "And I Say" shows up again on this release in a completely different form - another testament to the fact that Jacob is not only growing as a songwriter/performer but as a studio artist as well.
Waiting For The Piano Movers would be the band's 3rd release. This live album features 10 songs all recorded at a live performance at Full Sail University. One of the band's talented producers, 12 time Grammy Award Winner Sebastian Krys, is a Full Sail graduate and brought the band back to his college for an unforgettable performance. Waiting for the Piano Movers is raw, energetic, and purely entertaining. This album really represents the band at the core - 4 guys on stage, no gags, no smoke, no mirrors, nothing but an old fashioned rock show. One of the final tracks is a very emotional song written for the lead singers father who suddenly passed away a year or so before the recorded concert, this song is sure to induce goosebumps to the sentimental thinker. Although, Jacob Jeffries Band released this live album shortly after Wonderful, it features many songs never heard before on either previous EP... which is a good thing, because it would be their final release for several years.
After years of touring and negotiations for a new record, the band is back at it. This time with a widely anticipated full-length LP. Tell Me Secrets is the band's "introduction to the rest of the universe", they say. They've paid their dues as road warriors and are thrilled to trek it again and again in support of Tell Me Secrets. This studio release is certainly going to display the maturity and evolution one can only expect from a group of guys that have plighted cross-country a few times via a van and a trailer.
