Nick Deysher (performing as the cleverly named In the Nick of Time) combines his musical pedigree with a finely tuned ear to both the interests and concerns of young children. Deysher delivers fun, memorable, age appropriate songs balanced within music and instrumentation that demonstrates what multi-cultural music has to offer.
The album begins with the deliciously rhythmic and melodic reggae bath-time song "Scruba duba dub," before seamlessly segueing into the Soweto (South African) influenced title track. The spoken Punk music history lesson yields to the fabulously silly (yet instructive) "Punk Rock Vowels," where Deysher intones in his best Joey Ramone imitation "A, E, IOU, sometimes Y can be a vowel too." Elsewhere, there is an authentically played calypso backing to the celebration of children turning "Four," while his ode to "Sneakers" is given some Allman Brothers, country rock treatment. His mastery of many musical styles can be heard in the delta swing, instructive tale of "Alligator Sally," the funky "Race Car," the movement game "The Freeze Dance," and the lovely, Marvin Gaye inspired "Everybody's Afraid of Something." Favorites abound, including the Tracey Deysher crooned "Out of Green Paint Blues," the barrelhouse piano boogie of "I've Got A Little Dog," and the calliope driven "Three Ringed Circus." Parents, in particular, will smile at Deysher's Dylan-esque "Subterranean Homemade Junk Band."
The combination of wit, intelligence, skilled instrumentation and a genuine understanding of what children are all about put this at the top of our list. - Parents' Choice Foundation

Bio
Since 2000, Nick Deysher has been delighting children and parents alike with his unique style of kids’ music. As a preschool teacher, Nick heard time and again from parents that they were searching for music that was appropriate for the smaller set, but didn’t drive them crazy in the process. By combining various styles of popular music with themes and concepts from his preschool and elementary curriculum, Nick has discovered the magic formula that gets everyone big and small up and dancing.
To date Nick’s music production company, In The Nick of Time Music has released three albums of great family music. With hints of Rock, Pop, Reggae, Jazz, Blues, Country, Hip-Hop and Latin music there is something for everyone to enjoy. In 2006, Nick was honored by the Television Academy with the prestigious Fred Roger’s Memorial Scholarship for excellence in children’s media. Their support allowed In The Nick of Time to release Coconut Groove (2007) Nick’s first studio album. The hit single, The Dinosaur Song received an honorable mention in the John Lennon Song Writing Contest for Children’s Music.
Nick plans to follow the success of Coconut Groove with his latest album, People, Places and Things which is set for release in November of 2009. Nick will be touring to promote People, Places and Things throughout South Florida and the East Coast.
