ILLStrip Biography

Welcome to the world of ILLStrip the total package. A group of individuals who are proficient in the art of making Hip Hop Music. Working very hard to bring back the deadly combination of having strong production, lyrical content and stage presence. The members of the group are from the states of Delaware and New Jersey. Our goal is to make quality original Hip Hop Music that everyone can enjoy.

The group started off with three artist Mar-Var, Uncle Stigz & Moo-Doo. And has since grown into a 14 person band including three producers. Mar-Var & Moo-Doo, are brothers, and have been making music together since childhood. Their father introduced them to Uncle Stigz in 1998 and since the three have been making music together as a team. Although ILLStrip is a group, each individual has the ability to perform solo. To showcase this point every mix tape released includes solo performances by each MC. In addition, over the years Mar-Var picked up the knack for creating smooth beats. He is a self trained producer, who learned the production game by trial and error. He shares his knowledge with newly recruited producers Tig Smallz & G Code. The treo is producing on the average of 20 beats per week. Mar-Var landed a placement with DJ Kay Slays Streetsweeper artist Big Lou (Think About It) and many other in the works.

ILLStrip is currently expanding beyond the PA/DE/NJ region in which so much love has been shown. After the response and the reviews, which have been generated throughout the streets to the Internet, it was destiny that this day would come. Having already released three mix tapes independently, in 1998 "ILLStrip - I’m committed, in 2000 self-titled "ILLStrip Mix Tape" followed by the 2003 "ILLStrip Reloaded". Even though these are labeled as "mix tapes" the content is far from the normal "mix tape" you usually hear. These mix tapes are filled with original music recorded and performed by ILLStrip. However many would say thier success began In 2005, ILLStrip released the 1st edition to thier street album series titled “ILLStrip - Either You I.S. or You Aint”. 24 tracks of ILL Music, 9 tracks produced by MarVar, and songs & freestyles over industry instrumentals. This street album gained ILLStrip their first ever Online Interview at HipHopGame.Com and Unsigned Heat at HipHopHavoc.com. In addition, Undergroundties.com posted a full page feature for IllStrip on their website. The follow up was released March 2007. This time ILLStrip pulled in the internationally known mixtape dj "Big Mike" for hosting duties along with Dj Mega Skills. In 2008, Vol. 2 took ILLStrip to new heights by recieving a Justo Nomination for Best Street Album of the Year. IllStrip is currently releasing Vol. 3 to the Either You IS or You Aint Street Album Series. Stay tuned, there is no telling where Vol. 3 will take them.

Since the release of the first Mix Tape in 1998, ILLStrip has been on the grind. From performing @ every venue possible in thier hometown Delaware to promoting thier performances online via popular video sites such as youtube.com, vladtv.com, forbezdvd.com and worldstarhiphop.com. ILLStrip is everywhere. Where ever there is an oppurtunity to get thier music heard you are sure to find ILLStrip on thier grind doing what they do best. HIP HOP!
