KILLERWHALE
INDIE-POP-GHETTO-ELECTRO-NEW WAVE-FUNK (AKA. EMO-FUNK)
The Sound
KillerWhale, brother of Grammy-winning recording artist Macy Gray, describes his sound as the music that you would get if you sent Rick James into the future in a pimped out Millennium Falcon with a mission to spread electro-funk, throughout the galaxy
With production by hip-hop producer J.Fish (Mac Miller and Tayyib Ali), KillerWhale calls his innovative brand of music Ghetto-electro-pop. This unique brand of pop music is influenced by a combination of genres including indie-pop electro, synth-pop, funk, new wave and punk. Additionally KillerWhales diverse music interests, which include hip-hop, soul and heavy metal and mainstream pop, also help to mold his sound making it both easily consumable by mainstream music listeners, and also exciting to discerning of ears.
The Artist
KillerWhale feels that in a digital age of cellphone technology and personal pocket computers... music plays very important role in maintaining balance in the struggle between man vs. technology and innovation. KillerWhale's music maintains this balance by speaking to honest human emotion, human nature, life experience and story telling of which we all can relate.
As a listener you begin to feel the true impact of KillerWhale music once you realize that his personal life experiences have been infused into every line of every pop song, resulting in an honest and emotionally connected form of masculinity that is often lacking in pop music of today.
The Entertainer
Throughout the Philadephia indie music scene, KillerWhale is best known for his high energy live shows that sway back and forth from feeling like either a pop, punk or funk concert depending on where he falls in any one portion of a song.
His live shows pay homage to the late great front men and women of music's greatest eras, specifically stand out throughout the 70's 80's 90's and 00's. His shows feel like a futuristic electro-pop-funk house party where Rick James, Tv On The Radio, Bad Brains and David Bowie, have all been invited to share the stage.
You'll fully understand why the futuristic fun and funky sound of KillerWhale works, once you've heard his Ghetto-electro-pop stylings.

'Best of Me' is the first single off of KillerWhale's full length album 'The Ghetto Electro Show'. Song from the completed album are scheduled to be periodically released with accompanying music videos through through fan funded campaign.
