Chasing Ghosts = Folk
Chasing Ghosts is about the journey, not the destination. A unique Acoustic Folk sound with Country undertones, a change of pace for Jimmy Kyle whose new direction is a soulful and intimate departure from his Hardcore roots.
Jimmy sung and screamed his way through the Australian music scene for many years and shared the stage alongside the likes of Parkway Drive, I Killed The Prom Queen, The Amity Affliction, The Getaway Plan, Silverstein (USA), Comeback Kid (CAN) and many more national and international artists during the mid naughties.
In 2010 Jimmy started to slowly create something that told a humble story, "Chasing Ghosts".
2011 saw the release of Chasing Ghosts’ debut solo record "Confessions from a Phone Booth" working with US Producer Andy Beck. A raw album free of all digital bells and whistles, lyrically driven and featuring the iconic tones of Nashville regular Bill Chambers, ARIA Hall of Famer Robbie Suitor and guest appearance of Southern Metal sensation Tyron Ross of Mourning Tide.
The days of being packed into tour van’s for hours on end had dramatically changed and an introduction to isolated airport living in all corners of the Nation quickly followed. A DIY ethos, a tireless work ethic and a vigorous touring schedule saw Chasing Ghosts in Australia and New Zealand, Making Festival appearances alongside Neil Finn, After The Fall, Sarah Blasko, The Young Heretics, Ash Grunwald, The Almost (USA) Reliant K (USA), Avalanche City (NZ) and the Chariot (USA).
Supports with US Artists Kenny Vasoli of Emo/Punk kids the "Starting Line" to Keyboard Mosh darlings House Vs Hurricane are another testament of Chasing Ghosts' Diversity and ability to tell a timeless story of life experiences and hope to any audience.
After National tour supports with Canadian Post Hardcore monster Sights and Sounds (featuring Andrew Neufield of Comeback kid) and off the back of a National tour with Youtube sensation D at Sea, Chasing Ghosts continues to build a loyal fan base one show at a time, a story at a time.
Chasing Ghosts continues to cross barriers with timeless story telling and the rumble of his baritone melodies making festival appearances and vigorous touring not just nationally but also in South East Asia and New Zealand.
This is the start of a brilliant journey for an older kind of soul and an exciting new talent.
For lovers and listeners of Chuck Ragan's solo work, Brian Fallon and City and Colour.
