Hymn River Suite is a country duo that hails from the banks of the Mississippi River in Southern Illinois. HRS is made up of the sibling duo, Justin Mathenia and Amy Snyder. The pair seamlessly trade off the lead vocal while meeting in the middle to create a beautiful, honest harmony. Hymn River Suite’s sound blends elements of traditional country and southern rock in a new and fresh way.
Hymn River Suite draws inspiration from their vast life experiences. The pain and doubt is evident as Justin Mathenia sings of his time spent in Iraq as a 50 cal gunner. The heart break and longing is tangible as Amy Snyder paints a beautiful picture of her time spent waiting for her Husband to return from war in Afghanistan.
Hymn River Suite’s brand new album “100 Proof” will be available in the summer of 2017. The album was mixed by the Grammy nominated Wes Sharon (John Fullbright, Turnpike Troubadours, Parker Millsap) and Mastered by Eric Conn (Garth Brooks, John Prine, Joey+Rory).
