Hweeqo is a solo electronic music producer based out of New York City. Fresh on the scene, his sound revolves around a fine-tuned, House music aesthetic delicately balanced with lush, melodic overtones, transporting the listener to a realm of catchy, emotionally stimulating, beat driven pop.
Because his music can seamlessly blend between a DJ set and a live performance, Hweeqo allows and encourages his music to be associated with Electronic and House genres. In light of this however, his extensive background and natural skill with instruments like the Violin, Guitar, and Piano, lend his song structures an important melodic influence, consciously challenging the listener to question any specific genre distinction.
Hweeqo has performed a number of DJ sets around Manhattan, Brooklyn and
Queens, including Sensei Gallery, Dress Shop Gallery, Bossa Nova Civic
Club, and Queens Tavern. He most recently played a show at XXX Gallery in Hong Kong.
