That was a great set at the Horseshoe. Straightforward rock simply put over a warm bed of pop-hooks and bright harmonies. Dabbling slightly in that bluesy 70’s edge, the band is also a lively mix of chiming riffs, saxophone and even a tambourine-shaker. The HTK formed in 2009 in Ontario, putting out their first EP, We Choose to Go to the Moon, one year later.
After spending nearly a year on the Moon project, the HTK are ready to hit the road and showcase their talent to the world.
"We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon and do other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win."
Taken from a JFK speech from the early '60's, the HTK worked with this philosophy throughout the making of the Moon project and came out with not just a good record, but the best record possible.
