Honeyloaf

Honeyloaf is the creation of husband and wife singing duo Jason and Wendy. After years of wanting to get their musical skills out of the kitchen and onto the stage, a night of watching “ Walk the Line” (the Johnny Cash story) sparked the idea that the world needed another John and June, so…Honeyloaf was born!
Honeyloaf is influenced from the era when early rock and rollers and country artists were sharing the same tour bus, this was music they were exposed to as small children by their parents. Simple, catchy and infectious. The fast songs made you want to get up and dance while the heartfelt ballads made you pull your loved one near. This is what they wanted Honeyloaf to be. Pure, simple and from the heart.
When the decision was made to meld these early influences into their new idea for an act, the idea of Honeyloaf blossomed and unleashed some of Jason’s best songwriting to date. Their voices seemed to meld together, each helping the other to tell the story. Wendy even stepped out from behind the harmonies to show off her sultry voice. Great local musicians James Love, David Booth and Ryan Hill stepped up to complete the sound and help Honeyloaf wow their audience with an enthusiastic live show. I mean how many Roots Rock bands do you see with two drummers anyway!
Two part harmonies, dirty vintage guitars, a stand up double bass and two drummers… what more could you want? Maybe a little banjo?…well… ok.
