Bio
Homewreckr knows how to get the hooks in. Combining heavy riffs and driving rhythms with soaring melodies and evocative lyrics, Homewreckr bridges worlds and blends genres from hard rock to heavy metal. Homewreckr's diverse and well-crafted songs adeptly transition from powerful grooves to sparkling arpeggios while seamlessly integrating aggressive vocals and transcendent harmonies. The Homewreckr sound ensnares audiences from the opening measures, as new listeners find their heads banging in unison with seasoned Homewreckr fans whenever and wherever this band takes the stage.
Founded in 2010, Homewreckr hails from the city of Clarkston,
Washington, USA. After several years of honing their performance skills and
developing original music that suited their unique sound, vocalist Kevin
Black, guitarist Alexander Black, drummer Brett Gile and bassist David Delva entered Amplified Wax Recording Studios
in Spokane, WA, in March of 2015 to record the band’s debut EP, The Wreckning.
Released on June 27th of 2015, The
Wreckning captured the
distilled result of five years of dedication to excellence in a single controlled
detonation of creativity. In less than 24 hours over a single weekend, Homewreckr poured all of the energy and power of
their electrifying live performances into every single track of the Wreckning.
With finished tracks in hand, Homewreckr set
out to raise funds for the publication and release of The Wreckning. Through an online crowdfunding campaign, Homewreckr
raised over $6000.00 from a dedicated fanbase developed over years of live
performances. Collaborating with concert photographers and professional
illustrators from the film and comics industries, Homewreckr produced a slick
and professional package for the EP that reflected the attitude of the songs
found within The Wreckning. The
release show for The Wreckning was a
stellar event, and was recorded and chronicled in part for the first video that
the band released on their YouTube channel for the initial single from The Wreckning, “Like You.”
The Wreckning was
well received by reviewers and fans alike. Bobby Coughron writing for
the music blog sleazeroxx.com noted that the
EP "...does not feel like a first album" while PowerPlay
Magazine called it "...an exceptional debut." Writing about the
band's debut single release "Like You," Rob Dell'Aquila of the
hardrockdaddy music blog raved that the track "...blends punchy
instruments with brash lyrics into an upbeat appeal that simply
drips with groove and attitude."
Homewreckr continues their commitment to live performance that
inspired and funded the release of The
Wreckning. Holding nothing back, every performance reflects their desire
to leave everything on the stage every single time they play. Carrying the
energy and excellence of their performances to audiences throughout the
Inland and Pacific Northwest, the band attracts new fans with every
performance. After seeing the band for the first time, writer David Conn of the music
blog XMD-NW.com described Homewreckr as “one
of the best local Hard Rock acts” in the Northwestern United States.
Far from resting on their laurels, Homewreckr continues to push forward. The band returned to Amplified Wax studios in Spokane in January of 2016, recording all-new material that further refines and builds on the foundations of their signature sound. Taking a slower, more steady approach to developing their new material, Homewreckr plans to release the first singles from these recordings in the latter half of 2016. Regular releases of new material are planned for the following months as Homewreckr prepares their fans for the release for their first full-length album, which will be announced in 2017.
