Bio
The Holy Hot Boyz began in 1999 because we were mainly bored at church and we wanted to spice it up a little bit. We began rapping to instrumentals at church with only 3 members. Then it was that summer we began going to a Christian Sports Camp annually by the name of Kids Across America. We want to really give a huge shout out to KAA, our inspiration for Crunk and Worship, our first visit there as crazy we thought all the counselors were crazy but its an experience that every youth should take, you find alot of weaknesses about yourself and get to meet sooo many great people. So with that in mind we formed this group of 8 in order to get the youth more involved in the service. In Shreveport, LA it was very very hard for the older generation to accept what we or other pioneers in this city were doing, but being part of the movement for this city it has really become a positive movement.
We continued rapping at certain venues across the Ark-La-Tex area up until early 2006 it took a turn for the worst. While driving to a performance in the outskirts of the Shreveport area, a group of the members got into a bad accident where they hydroplaned into an embankment. Two members who were laying in the back of the church van were injured seriously, one being a broken neck and possibly being paralyzed and the other surviving severe cuts to his face. The member with his neck broken was saved by God's grace, after a few surgeries he was back on his feet and survived a very scary moment.
After the accident, things started looking upward when Glass Key Entertainment of Fort Worth, Texas sought interest in the very vibrant group. They signed a deal in the fall of 2006 seeking high hopes for us. After we recorded some of our songs we performed around the area, we were excited for the 2007 release. While waiting, God did something amazing, testing our faith in trying to see if we were really ready to push his word in our own way, he bought trials and tons of them. Each member of the group went through tough times and God revealed that within us. With this faith test, all of the members began having trouble trying to cope with the tests. It was until the end of the 2007 summer when a few of the members started gainging their trust in God again. Four members remain, but there will always be EIGHT Holy Hot Boyz. We released in March 2009, our Debut Album "Crunk N Worship" which received high acclaim. In the midst of celebrating and ministering our album, one of our members was shot to death in a domestic violence act. That incident made us take an inventory of our life, and how God wants us to use these incidents to make his WORD the only thing we speak about. Now the remaining Holy Hot Boyz have alot of things lined up for the 2011 year, including shows around the nation, our Sophomore Album Release, and just merely wanting to pass on God's Gospel.
With God's unsurmountable grace we've been blessed to be on the same stage as Master P, Adina Howard, Choppa from making the band, Big Moe, Ma$e Canton Jones, Big Al, Tre 9, Bushwich Bill, Jai, JR, Fedel, Gospel Gangstaz, Red Cloud, Sean Slaughter, and MANY MANY MORE, the crowd knew not what they were in for but they got a huge surprise when they got a blessing! God is using us to help get the youth excited about Praising God again!
HOLY HOT BOYZ
Our Group abides by II Corinthians 4:1-10 which states:
1Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.
2Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
3And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
4The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
5For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.
6For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness,"[a]made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
This is the scripture that cements us in the Gospel now! We Preach this everywhere we go because everyone has their own form of praise and worship....we, as we stated before, have our Crunk and Worship!!!
