HoodGoodGoodie: young, black,intelligent,creative, and caring- started on the scene at the age of thirteen. Growing up in the streets of East Palo Alto, California she learned quick that you have to have tough skin to survive. Survivor of a broken home due to drugs and domestic violence HoodGoodGoodie looked to music for a peace of mind and a way to escape. Now in this day in age she looks to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for peace a of mind, not giving a damn at the stereo types or characteristics that anyone thinks she should be as a “Female Rapper”. Back in the early 90’s HoodGoodGoodie started out rapping to the sounds of her brother beat boxing.Years later in 2008 HoodGoodieGIRL Music Label was created. Who are your top five influences? Foxy Brown,Tupac,E-40,Nas,TI
What made you want to make music? The fact the you have the right to speak freely with how you feel is what keeps me making music. Making music is the outlet to escaping all the B-S. Music is a mood changer and a soul saver above all. That’s why I love and keep making music.
Are you currently working on any projects? No projects album wise at this time. Will be dropping a few New singles throughout the rest of year. Keep A Go Get’EM is dropping July 7. Will probably do a few collaborations down the line here, real soon.
How would you describe your sound? Overall I describe my sound as raw uncut and spiritually driven. It’s usually always sassy and straight to the point. My sound varies in terms of the different beats I may choose to work on. I love all types of beats and instruments,so I rap over just about any genre of beat, and make it my own.
When writing a song, is there a routine you go through? Yes.I will choose different producers beats, throw them in a rotation, and free style play with hooks until I come up with a hook. From there,draft record the hook.Write/practice verses until ready to record the songs. - BLENDED MINDS MAG.COM
