Bio
Helluvah real name is Camille Warme. Born in Paris, France, in 1982, she first started playing in 1999 in a band called Fog, based in Nice, in the south of France, much inspired by bripop and indie bands (Oasis, Blur, PJ Harvey, Radiohead.....).
Two years later, she leaves for Paris and keeps on writing songs, but on her own. She eventually records her 5-track demo intitled Lost in progress during the 2005/2006 winter. It gets good reviews from the underground press and enables her to tour a lot, in France but also abroad (Lithuania, Latvia, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Germany).
In November 2006, Helluvah records her debut album with Lyon-based producer Bob X.
Soon signed on an indie label (Blog Up Musique), Helluvah first released an ep (Fall to winter) and a track in the UK (Shifty Disco Records ' single club) then her debut album Emotion pills (Blog Up Musique / Pias) in France in May 2008, and opens for great artists (Asa, The Long Blondes, Moriarty...) while her records gets good reviews and airplay on independent radios.
In 2008, for the release of her album, she perfomed at French Festival Les Femmes S'en Mêlent that has also welcomed artists such as Shannon Wright, CSS, Electrelane, The Organ in its previous editions.
After nearly 3 years being solo onstage, Helluvah started this year o make concerts as a duo with Bob X on the drums, the bass or the guitar, for a show that is more rock, and closer to the spirit of her album.
She plans to record a second album in 2009.
