HELLO DHARMA with Claw – Friday, March 6 @ Tree House Lounge
The D.C. area’s own Hello Dharma is one of many excellent bands booked at the Tree House Lounge on Friday night. Hello Dharma’s lead guitar recalls 80′s power-metal, while the groups lyric’s are down-to-earth and highly relatable, setting up Tree House Lounge for an excellent night of hard-rocking. - Brightest Young Things
Hailing from Washington DC, four-piece alternative group Hello Dharma are a rare breed of band nowadays. Three of the band members have been playing together consistently for over 15 years, leading to that sort of tight knit, natural sound that can only come through growth in musical camaraderie.
A fluid, eclectic approach to alt-rock helps Hello Dharma to stand out amongst their peers, with elements of jazz thrown in for good measure.
The group have a new EP, Disconnectionism, which they recorded at Blue Room Studios in Bethesda, MD, that will be released with Rock Paper Records on April 28th. Speak Into My Good Eye is happy to host the exclusive premiere of new single, “Disconnect”, below.

Bio
Hello Dharma was founded in Washington, D.C. and raised on the sounds of The Who, Nirvana, Thin Lizzy, and Weezer. Their rock and roll upbringing along with their classic pop sensibilities makes for an ear catching combination of new and vintage sounds. The smooth, soulful vocals of singer/guitarist, M.J. Mclaughlin, are complemented by the frenetic guitar lines and melodic piano runs of guitarist/pianist Andrew McCue, and the whole operation is held together by the rock solid rhythm section of drummer, Alex Constantine, and bassist, Chris Kanavy.
Hello Dharma has been working since 2013 to build their name within the D.C. music scene and have succeeded in playing multiple venues across the city and the Northern Virginia area including, Black Cat, Rock & Roll Hotel, DC9, IOTA, Jammin’ Java and Tree House Lounge. While playing live as much as possible, they also successfully released an EP titled “Disconnectionism” through Rock Paper Records, earning praise from music website “Speak Into My Good Eye”. Currently, the band is in the midst of recording their yet to be titled full length debut and are poised to take their act to the next level and beyond.
