Chicago beatmaker Hef Da Playboy is due to set the Windy City and beyond ablaze this year with his gyrating, bass-heavy grooves and soulful programming touch. Citing influences as diverse as Timbaland and Led Zeppelin, Hef is determined to indiscriminately reach out to all lovers of music and transcend the genres that restrict lesser artists. The self-proclaimed “Playboy” does not attempt to emulate his influences or to fit comfortably into any simply musical categories, instead focusing his efforts on getting “people moving, plain and simple.” “JMF,” with its flexible analog bass synths, swanky wah guitars, and sensuous rhythms, is a gift from one Playboy to the rest of his Casanova brethren, providing the perfect music to bump and grind their latest one night stands to. - Urb Magazine

Bio
Hef's musical taste is representative of Chicago's diverse music on the airwaves. He has spent the past years within the Chicago club scene. Some of his influences include..Led Zepplin, Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Derrick Carter, Bob Dylan...He likes to get people moving plain and simple..as his influences are varied much as those artists are, he doesn't like to pigeonhole himself with one style which makes for a more interesting version of music.
