Heavywater

Hello friends...we are Heavywater, an independent rock band based out of Long Beach CA. Thanks for checking us out here on Sonic-bids! The beginning of our band history dates back to the mid 90's, when singer/guiatrist Jeff Carbone connected with guitar player Travis King through the Anaheim pennysaver magizine. At this time, Travis and Jeff played in several bands together, and were able to build what Long Beach press called "a rootsy and heartfelt songwriting connection." Jumping foward to 2005, Travis King and Jeff Carbone renewed their creative partnership by forming Heavywater. In 2006 drummer Brandon Allen joined, and shortly after bassist Scotty Brown. In the summer of 2009 we were very proud to relase our self-titled debut album "Heavywater." The creation of this record was a true labor of love, as it was 100% produced in our garage/home studio...Homegrown in every sense of the word!!
Most importantly though, we love the way the record turned out, and feel that it is a great representation of our sound. Go ahead, take a listen and see for yourself if you agree with us.....

The music that we love most is anything with a deep root in American music tradition. This is what we hear in our heads and what we try to create with our art in the studio and onstage. Heavywater has very deep roots, as we realise that no one is bigger than the family tree from which they came. We have countless influences from many genres including rock, soul, country, jazz, folk, psychedelic, and blues music, but we take all music made with integrity very seriously. To us, our influences is only half the equation anyway.... the other half is the state of mind to move the yardstick foward.
