Bio
We are available as a full band (see the recap video from the Whisky), acoustic singer/songwriter, with all originals, or with all covers.
Jane's bio:
I grew up in San Gabriel, CA and attended Polytechnic School in Pasadena for 14 years. There I received a phenomenal music education starting in Pre-K. In third grade I joined choir and began playing the cello, and music has been my defining passion ever since.
In high school, I had become immersed in cello playing around 20 hours each week. During my freshman year, however, I began experiencing numbness in my fingers and was diagnosed with Hereditary Neuropathy with Liability to Pressure Palsies essentially ending my cello career.
Taking my focus off of cello, however, opened up new opportunities for me to explore singing, songwriting, and behind the scenes aspects of the music industry. I became very involved in musical theatre, and began writing music regularly while teaching myself basic skills in multiple instruments.
As a Freshman at USC, I entered the Music Industry program to pursue a career in music with some combination of law, live production and promotion, publishing, and/or songwriting. After winning 1st place in a freshman talent show, I realized that now was the best time of any to pursue performance. Though I have generally been categorized as a musical theatre singer, I decided that only meant that I needed to adjust my powerful stage voice to fit into my songs.
This summer I will be working on recording my music and beginning to promote myself as a singer/songwriter. I would love any feedback and for you to share my music with your friends. Check back regularly for updates, and follow me on Twitter for the most up-to-the-minute information.
I have written songs for many different genres, and while I have several that I plan on recording for my upcoming demo and hopefully EP, I have many that I would be happy to work with any singer whose voice I believe fits the music better than my own.
