It all started with a cover show that Tim and Nick put together for fun after graduating from college. Tim and Nick played in a band in high school opening for bands such as Symphony X and Rob Van Winkle (formerly Vanilla Ice) at legendary Brooklyn nightclub Lamour. The cover show turned out to be a success and an original project was born. This new band featured Mike Gambino on drums and Mickey King on bass…a unique and artistic sound then emerged.
The band finished recording its first EP in January 2010, under the name “Epic Fail”, which featured 3 songs that represented a fresh sound that quickly distinguished itself from the local New York music scene. Despite early successes it was clear that some changes still needed to be made, the band amicably separated from drummer Mike Gambino and changed its name to Headstoned.
Matt Paris was tapped as the replacement. Matt was a long time friend and colleague of both Tim and Nick having played drums in their project during high school. Matt, a Musicians Institute graduate, gained a lot of experience and knowledge while living and gigging in the greater Los Angeles area. It was clear that Matt was the final piece of this groovy, funky rock puzzle.
Headstoned is now ready to show the world what happens when great musicians and friends get together to booze, blues, and shmooze!
