(Birmingham, AL) – Country, R&B, Christian, Gospel and Comedy shows have all come to Birmingham to raise money due to the devastation that hit Birmingham on April 27th. But on September 23rd , WORD AND TRUTH Gospel Ministers will be in Birmingham to REVIVE, RESTORE and REVOLUTIONIZE this city with their own flava of Gospel HIP HOP.

On September 23rd, 2011, at 6pm, The Worship Center, located at 9553 Parkway East, Birmingham, AL 35215, is where people from every denomination and culture will come together during the first leg of the highly proclaimed and highly anticipated MISFIT TOUR 2011.

This event will include the hottest names in the Gospel HIPHOP/Urban Arena, including Da T.R.U.T.H., The Ambassador, Mali Music, Sean Simmonds, Pastor Chris Durso and new artist Rhema Soul. Alongside these ministers will be area Gospel HIPHOP Artists such as Hallel HP, Rod G. Newman and Sharetta-Nicole.

This benefit concert is being presented by Trinity Tickets from Houston, Texas. Mr. Chris James, promoter for this event has so generously agreed to support the tornado relief efforts in Birmingham. A family that is in much need of that help has been identified by the Just Be Reel FoundationKenneth M. Davis better known as Kenny, had a bleed in the brain when he was an infant, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, and he has a Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt that prevents cerebrospinal fluids from collecting on his brain. As a result of his Cerebral Palsy he uses a wheelchair to get around. Kenny lives with his parents Christopher and Valerie Davis and he has two sisters Kristin and Travonda.

Kenny’s wheelchair accessible home was damaged badly by the tornadoes. Currently, they are staying in a home that is not wheelchair accessible and his parents have to carry him in and out of this house. The goal of this event is to raise enough money to replace a handicap accessible ramp and for renovations that Kenny is in need of for easier access into and around his home.

International Recording Christian Artist Hallel H.P. visited Daniel Payne Middle School’s First Priority club meeting on March 16, 2012. Hallel spoke the truth from God’s word. He challenged students to know the Word because it pays in life. He quizzed students on the following verses:

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” ~ Psalm 139:14 God has made us all so different and His works are incredible. We praise Him for His amazing wonders.

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” ~ Romans 12:10 We are to put others before ourselves.

“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” ~ John 12:32 After Christ’s death, he was lifted from the earth and people drew near to Him. We are to draw near to Him.

Hallel gave out prizes to students who knew these verses. He challenged students to carry these verses with them: “to praise God for His wonderful works and for making them different, to put others before themselves and to draw near to our Savoir.”
