Tampa based rapper Half Deezy is a success story if you’ve ever read one. Serving in the Army for almost ten years to provide for his daughter (who was born when he was 19), Deezy hung up his uniform to pursue his love for music full time. The rapper, who cites influences like Tupac and Tech N9ne, started performing in the late 90’s and has since released an EP called “Good Day” with songs like “Tonight,” a positive track you can dance to. As for his name, “when something is both dope and easy it’s ‘deezy,’” the rapper’s bio says. “Half Deezy has been in the game long enough to know that in today’s world there’s really nothing in life that’s easy all the time.”

Half Deezy Interview @ Aj&dbs

Half Deezy Vicenzia IT
How did the project come into existence? = When I was younger they used to call me Half Dead. I was also the skinniest one out of the group so when they decided to give me a nick name and they called me half dead. All I used to do is skip school and rap with my friends. Little did I know it was going to be something I wanted to pursue later on in life I decided to use it. After a while a band took the time and money to Trade mark the name and I had to change it to Half Deezy....... - Aj&dbs
The somewhat famous rap artist Soulja Boy is now apologizing after dissing the U.S. Army in on of his newest songs "Lets Be Real"
Many fans of the U.S. Army are angry with the young rapper and have retaliated with a few disses of their own.
Some of the names are SGT Ian Vandiver, SGT Dunson, and Stephen Hobbs.
I might even have to make a dis on soulja boy myself. Lol.
All in all, I am not sure if this is a publicity stunt for the young artist, or the fact that he messed up in his song. Being an underground rapper myself, I don't think it's easy to mess up in your song, that you wrote.
Soulja Boy You need to get your lyrics together. He says he gunna have the most songs. In my opinion it's going to be the most songs of junk. - Posted by Rap Fanatikz of Non Stop HipHop Records at 5:23 AM Friday, September 9, 2011
Last week I posted a video of Soulja Boy saying f*ck Army soldiers which offended me very much. Apparently I wasn’t the only soldier who felt disrespected. SGT Ian Vandiver took it upon himself to make a diss track which I happen to love. Soulja Boy swears he’s a soldier but as SGT Vandiver were the ones train to kill. - Posted by MsTrendy on September 4, 2011
I think this is one of the best responses I have heard to Soulja Boy’s “Lets Be Real.” - by Admin on September 20, 2011

Bio
According to the Urban Dictionary, when something is both dope and easy it’s “deezy”. Rap artist Half Deezy has been in the game long enough to know that in today’s world there’s really nothing in life that’s easy all the time; therefore his stage name Half Deezy. And the journey, well, what a long, strange trip it’s been.
Coming from a military family he spent his early years bouncing from city to city across the U.S.A. trying to find a place he could call home. Africa ter his father left the service his final stomping grounds was Las Vegas NV or better known as “Sin City”. By the time he turned 19, Half Deezy had fathered a child. While music was his first priority he decided to serve in the US Army in order to provide for his baby daughter.
Serving in Iraq he was forced to endure the thunder of mortar shelling one of the many unrelenting ravages of war. Completing his tour of duty Half Deezy returned to the states, but not completely unscathed. Diagnosed with Intermittent Explosive Disorder (Depression/Anxiety and adjustment disorder) the artist now uses his music as a form of self-therapy and a coping mechanism to deal with that crippling condition. Each and every day is a battle.
Fallen King Records (derived from the idea that all men are kings, who though eventually fall, will remain eternal through death) was formed by fellow rapper Kray as an independent label.
Half Deezy is an artist who was fortunate enough to have worked with legends like Spice 1, Bizzy bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, someone who was featured on tracks with Daz & Kurupt of DPG (Dogg Pound Gangstaz), or Layzie Bone, and blessed enough to open up for the legendary group Bone Thugs N Harmony on their 20th Anniversary tour. He has the hooks and the beats. Most importantly he has an unmistakable identity.
Now, after almost ten years of military service Half Deezy is hanging up his uniform to make music a full time job. To paraphrase a speech from the late, great General Douglas MacArthur: Old soldiers never die, but an artist like Half Deezy sure as hell’s not going to fade away anytime soon.”
