Bio
Grandtheft is a Producer/Songwriter/DJ/VJ based out of Toronto, Canada. He is also known as one half of the Team Canada DJs duo, co-founder of The Eh! Team, and co-owner of Montreal's favourite indie dance club Blue Dog Motel.
Establishing a eclectic, custom club sound by playing largely his own originals, remixes and video edits, Grandtheft has slayed clubs worldwide and is respected as one of the best live DJs Canada has to offer. His remixes and live sets have led to being booked to support huge acts such as U2 and Arcade Fire, and has been hand-picked by celebs such as Seth Rogan and Paris Hilton to supply the soundtrack for their events. New Years 2012, Grandtheft performed live-to-air on national television as the sole DJ for the Much Music throwback Electric Circus celebration. Coming up under the late DJ AM's wing, Team Canada's reign included playing most major events nationwide including Canada Day on Parliament HIll (crowd of 100 000+) and being selected as the Official DJs to The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver/Whistler.
Grandtheft released 3 original records in 2011: "Let Me Out" (Plant Music) and "Gangsta Muzik/Splash" (T&A Records), and "Give Me The Night" w/ Keys N Krates (YYZ Records). He's also remixed some big tunes including official remixes of Steve Aoki and Drake for labels such as Universal, Interscope, Dim Mak and OM. These official remixes and his well-known white label dubs are heard in clubs around the world on a nightly basis and have attained the elusive #1 spot on Hype Machine's blog charts many times. Stay tuned...there are a lot more exciting things in the pipeline for 2012.
