New, up and coming Americana band hits Arizona stages. Looking like seasoned professionals GTP brought the light to our last event. Taking the stage from some of the national acts. GTP had great energy and sound , perfect for our unexpecting fans.
Don't miss seeing GTP live and check them out on upcoming Channel 3 segments. - Erica Barr
You can’t avoid the hook in these songs and catch a show where people sing along within 1 minute of a song they have never heard. From young college girls to their 47 year old mothers everyone finds a song they like. (Arizona Magazine 07) - AZ Magazine
This act possess great vocal harmonies. And, that heavenly chorus could be one of the resons for thier seemingly irresistible charm. Women hang on every note and sing along with almost every song. - Music Conneciton May 09
These guys wear thier hearts on thier sleeves, where they can better emphasize thier painful and touching emotions. and apparently, all the sensititvity pays off- big time.
Considering the way they warmed up the women, a Goodbye to Pretty show would be a perfect date for a guy looking to get a little action - New Times Phoenix
Would I say it is a similar to a cult following? Possibly, however, instead of looking for the red punch there is an endless sea of tequila shots and cups filled with beer.
Opening the night was Goodbye to Pretty, a hybrid band with members from AZ and California. The sound has a similar flavor to RCPM in that the influences are old time rock and roll, country, and that southwest aura. They definitely complimented RCPM and gave an entertaining performance that lent to setting the atmosphere of the evening. They are light with a sense of humor that has a bit of a twist as noted in the song “Slave” and in the way they introduced the song “I see her” stating that it is “all about that late night booty call.”

Bio
Weaving driving guitar riffs, toe-tappin' roots, with a touch of country twang wrapped in seamless three part harmony, Goodbye to Pretty creates the unique hybrid sound called "Americana-Rock." The band's self-titled, thirteen track studio album contains a wide palette of moods, stellar musicianship, insightful lyrics and memorable hooks beginning with "Slave", nominated for Best Americana Song at the 2008 Hollywood Music Awards and currently in top 100 Americana Radio Spins.
Founding members Dean Douglas (lead vocals/guitars) and Fate Taylor (lead guitar/vocals) are the architects of the GTP sound. A classically trained Berkley grad and the other a country boy, the two forged their musical bond in a dirty desert bar and began writing fresh, new songs with intangible familiarity. Once the foundation was established, the completion of the quintet came with Nick Granger (guitar/vocals), Jimmy Joyce (bass) and Sam Hardwig (drums). Based in Scottsdale, AZ, these five talents are now burning up stages across the southwest while gaining a legion of fans along the way.
Goodbye to Pretty is currently touring in support of the band's recent LP. Regional tours include New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and California. As the band's popularity continues to expand, new markets will be added to their tour schedule. A national radio campaign is generating multiple adds/spins on Americana radio across the country. Additional media exposure covers print, internet and television, including a live performance and interview on KTVK-TV's "Good Morning Arizona." The group's signature sound has caught the attention of music supervisors and licensing professionals, resulting in several additions to prominent music libraries.
The cross-over appeal of Goodbye to Pretty is undeniable. Their music connects with fans of rock, pop, country and roots. Consummate professionals at their craft, the electrifying live experience of Goodbye to Pretty will linger long after the last southern-guitar lick fades.
