Formerly Supa & Chevi Boi of Unda Presha of Slip N Slide Records 1999-2004,2004-Present G.M.A.S.H. (Emphasis on 2009-10)Why change from Unda Presha? It was getting old, we needed something new, and GMASH was always something we talked about in our crew so we changed the name to GMASH
Get Money And Stop Hatin’, they’re not just a rap group they’re a movement, currently shifting the climate of South Florida’s music scene. The rap duo G.M.A.S.H, consists of artists/producers Supa and Chevi Boi formerly of Slip N Slide records Unda Presha.
Childhood friends both hailing from the “Brown Sub” area of Miami, Fl Chevi Boi and Supa entered the world of music at the very young age of 11 years-old, the then pre-teens found themselves flying back and forth between Miami and New York to record music. “We were producing songs back then too, but they weren’t feeling our music.” “their first single was Queen Crack, a sample of Marvin Gaye’s “Make You Wanna Holla.” The single had a buzz and “Young Dynasty” as they were called then was on its way to making big records, but things didn’t work out as planned.
In 1999 continuing on the road to create music, they formed a group with four other childhood friends Unda Presha. Signed in a joint venture to Slip N Slide records they quickly gained success with their single “Girls Be Loving This”; shooting videos, touring with Trick Daddy and opening for other Slip N Side recording artist like Trina.
In 2002, Unda Presha was featured on the blockbuster Drumline soundtrack along side Trick Daddy, Duece Poppi, Tre + 6; “Let’s Go” produced by Supa. The single was played during the famous frat party scene of the movie, and has become an anthem in stadiums during sporting events. The duo has produced songs for 2 Live Crew, Trina, Trick Daddy among a host of others.
So, it’s no wonder that when Unda Presha split in 2003 Chevi Boi and Supa went on to create the movement that is known as GMASH; Get Money And Stop Hatin’. We realized that everyone is out here trying to do the same thing whether you’re a gas attendant, school teacher, singer or a rapper, we’re all trying to get this paper, so why hate?” says GMASH member Chevi Boi. The members of Unda Presha all remain united in their music quest in a joint venture between UDC members Low Down, and 12 da Playa.
