I'm excited by two things connected to Geraint Rhys. He's not only a fantastic new honest, political, and poignant artist in his own right, but is also the latest signing to a new label out of Newport.Run as a not for profit organisation, Junta Records have quite an eclectic bill from Geraint's music to Science Bastard, Hi Fi Murders, and Kill For The Atlantic. I'm glad to hear Geraint is currently recording his debut album All That Is Left Is Us, and I look forward to getting him in session on the show. - BBC RADIO WALES

Just across the road at Mozart’s Geraint Rhys showed an enthused crowd why earnest and acoustic aren’t always dirty words. Single Progression manages to put melancholic intricate guitar work to fine use in expressing and questioning the sense of loss of community, and Ble Mae’r Haul? (Where’s the Sun) is a beautiful and poignant Welsh language number. Usually, when artists say “this is what this songs about”, I cringe inside, but when songs such as All That is Left is Us leave no musical element embellished with meaning, the intros are mere gateways into exploring the songs themselves

Hailing from Swansea South Wales, Geraint Rhys is a bi-lingual singer songwriter with a lot to say.
Merging his own social commentary with personal experience, his lyrics are poignant and powerful.
His reflective approach to song writing leaves no stone unturned as he touches upon subjects as diverse as politics, culture, power and history, to love, hate, lust and greed, to highlight both the banality and beauty of life.
Reggae, folk, rock and pop influences stream through his music where he mixes his meaningful messages with memorable melodies. This combined with a soulful and powerful voice has produced
a serious artist with a clear message of intent.
In September 2013 Geraint recorded a 3 track live BBC Radio Wales Session with Bethan Elfyn, was featured on Tom Robinson's BBC Radio 6 show and recorded his TV debut for S4C show OCHR1 recording new track Neb. He is currently recording his debut album, All That Is Left Is Us, which will be released in early 2014. He will release a single with a video every month leading up to the album release.
