Introduce the members of GCN.
All the members of GCN is from Dallas Texas, first we have Tommy T. who was introduce to music by his grandmother, who love to hear him sing, Tommy brings that R&B swag, and sound plus excellent writing skills to the group that set GCN apart from other groups. Lil O has hardcore gangsta lyrics and producer skills that’s second to none. And Lil C who conveys a unique and versatile flow that astonishing to hear. And last but not lease is CoFeezy who bring the energy and flavor that’s the group needs to maintain its edge in the music business.
How did did the label start?
South Dallas Records was created by Richard & John Jiles as an outlet for the neighborhood kids who didn’t play sports so they also could dream of being successful. South Dallas Records and GCN developed at this same time and has been a movement that won’t die. GCN didn’t start out as music, it started with our manager’s mother adopting all the kids in our neighborhood from the average kid to the Football team, Basketball team of Madison High school, and the kids started calling themselves Granny Crib Ni_ _as, which we later change to Granny Crib Nation to be politically correct. As Granny Crib cultivated Lil O met Tommy T. which was like getting that star quarterback for your favorite football team. He was the ingredients that make GCN an outstanding gumbo.
What’s something you wish you knew when you first started your career that you do know now?
The Internet!!! It has made us realize that we belong in this business, by performing at SXSW this past March, opening up for Rich Homie and Young Joc and the CJ Miles Basketball player Art & fashion show and now gigs opportunity are coming from all direction, even as far as St. Thomas.
What’s in the works?
In September of 2012 GCN release an EP title “The Commencement” which can be obtain on ITunes and our current album “It’s Our Destiny” is schedule for release August of 2014 with fifth teen top of the line cuts and will also be available on ITunes. The future plans for GCN and South Dallas Records is simple, Keep Grinding our way up that ladder until we reach the top. - Arron Cortez

Cofeezy
Corey Collins who goes by stage name Co.Feezee was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He has been rapping and performing since the age of 15 all throughout the metroplex. As a teen coming up, Co.Feezee, along with fellow GCN member Lil O, performed on a compilation CD named Texas Gs with a group they united with called Three Fresh Posse. This time around, with his maturity and wisdom, he is looking forward to making it big in the music industry. Co Feezee is known for his sophisticated and suave rapping style and credits his style to his musical influences which include; The Notorious BIG, Rick Ross and TI. His musical aspiration is to be the hottest rapper/ pop star in the world.
Tommy T
Tommy T is a rising musician born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Tommy Thomas grew up a natural born singer, performing for his church and primarily for his number one fan, his grandmother. Raised with her inspiration and his natural talents, Tommy T is looking to bring a style to his music reminiscent of his influences, Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, and Babyface. Tommy Ts music is a mixture of his own creation, with a blend of R&B;, Gospel, and Hip Hop. Growing up, 25 year-old Tommy had an early start at performing through school plays, and was involved in sports including bowling as well as football and basketball.
T-Guns, as he used to go by, has been a recording artist for the past five years, and his debut CD, The Beginning, premiered in late 2009. He has been interviewed by Realm X Radio for his CD launch, and has even performed at various venues. With modest goals, Tommy T simply states that his goal through his music is, To become one of the greatest singers to ever live.
Lil C
Born Christopher Buchanan on October 12, 1985 Lil C hails from Dallas Texas raised in Pleasant Grove B.K.A The Greedy Grove. He first fell in love with music when has 8 years old, started writing his own music at the tender age of 12,and stepped in the studio for the first time at the age of 15. Only after positive feedback from friends, local producers, and local artist, did Lil C started taking his music serious. Lil C credits rappers like Twista, Young Jeezy, Young Dro and T.I. as his main influences. He has featured with various artists in the game like Lil Wil, Big Pokey, and Big Hawk and a slew of other local artist. He has stated several times that his music tends to reach more than one type of crowd. He makes songs more for the ladies but still something the fellas can vibe with and at the same time can turn around and give you the rough grimy hits that the streets yearn for.
Lil O
Brought into the world as Otha Orange hailing from Monroe La., Lil O moved to Dallas TX at the age of 12. Almost immediately, he started rapping with a local rap group (Three Fresh Posse). He enjoys various musical genres but Rap and Hip Hop is his favorite. Recording artist like UGK, Easy E, and Twister have had a strong impact on Lil O and the start of his musical career. While performing with his previous group Three Fresh posse, Lil O has showcased his talents of producing beats and twisting his lyrics throughout the Triple D (Dallas TX). Some of prior endeavors include performances at the Junior Black Academy, Steve Harveys night club, the Dallas Convention Center, and also a performance on the local cable TV show channel 30-b. Lil O states out of all the things hes tried in his life raping is the one thing that he has continued to love. Lil O has united with a group of guys calling themselves GCN and will be releasing their first E.P. (The Commencement) in September of 2012.
