Bio
Garrett Owen is a skilled and versatile guitarist, songwriter, and singer. Born in San Antonio, Texas while his family lived in Comfort, Garrett spent his childhood in Tanzania, Kenya, and Ecuador. While in Ecuador he was something of a metal head; upon returning to Texas he studied jazz and became serious about songwriting.
His musical influences--many and varied--include: Elliot Smith, Django Reinhardt, Eric Clapton, Coldplay, Harry Nilsson, and Jim Croce among many others.
Garrett's writing is sensitive and heartfelt; his guitar technique exacting, complex, and melodic. His vocals sound out his lyrics with a voice filled with pathos and passion. His guitar fills the room with sound with chord melody as if two or more are playing.
