I grew up in Ireland. I moved to Chicago at age 23, having flipped a coin outside a travel agents in Dublin. My cousin and I had decided to hit the states in the summer of ’95 but we forgot to discuss to which city. Heads for New York, tails for Chicago, the coin landed on tails. We didn’t care since we had no clue really about the differences, that’s how green we were! I gave my first performances on the subways of Chicago and soon landed a gig at the Abbey Pub on Chicago’s north side. It wasn’t long before I was a regular on the circuit playing 3 to 5 nights a week. A good life.. for a 23 year old!
It’s been 14 years since that summer and during that time I’ve been a waiter, barman, worked for a design firm, sold real estate, sold advertising TVs, worked for a Credit card processing Co. to mention but a few, but always, first and foremost I’ve been a musician. It’s part of me, as undeniable as my nose! I have strong convictions and thats what I write and sing about. Like most musicians, I'm emotional and I'm not afraid to admit it. When you ad these two ingredients you get music that's honest and that's what I hope connects with the listener, that they can identify with the song both musically and lyrically.
