“”Interdisciplinarity” means in science, the use of approaches, ways of thinking or methods from various disciplines. A perfect example of this being transferred to the music world would be British musician Katie Marie: she sings, plays guitar, piano, bass and drums. A perfect one-woman band” - Akustik Gitarre Magazine
'Katie Marie is a very talented multi-instrumentalist who also happens to be a great singer-songwriter. Katie has played on some of my work and, apart from being one of the most talented, is also one of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure to work with' - Phil Gould
(About Been Here Before EP) An excellent EP by the brilliant Katie Marie. This starts off beautifuly with a wonderful track called Have My Love. Very Moving, very beautiful. Overall, this is a wonderful EP - AJ Charron - Guitar Noise
(About Been Here Before EP) 'Mirror' has a toe tapping jazzy feel, 'Star' is mezmerising - Amy - Collected Sounds
I look forward to Katie Marie doing well and to continue to produce music that makes a reviewer's day - Luis Fiske - Demorama
(About Been Here Before EP) This short CD is a wonderful piece for your collection to get in on the ground floor of a young singer/songwriter with very good potential - Rambles.net
(About Confessions) – After a two-year break from her first release, Katie Marie brought forth a collection of random songs that she had written over a three year time period and called it “Confessions”. It’s a personal journey of love, heartache and self-discovery all set with Katie’s beautifully toned vocals. The release is raw, somewhat acoustic and amazingly handcrafted to perfection, something that is a rarity to find in today’s music. Katie Marie is a funky, Joni Mitchell in disguise. Full of flavor, passion and melody, “Confessions” is that one CD that is missing from your collection. I strongly suggest you add it soon, it’s selling fast. Buy it before your friends do so you have bragging rights that you discovered her first. Then, you can thank CoffeeHouseTour for keeping your collection updated with pure, 100% talent that Katie Marie has put forth in “Confessions” - Heather Corcoran - Coffee House Tour
The ladies have really welcomed Katie Marie. Down boys, not the model. This singer/songwriter is from Devon country in England. An accomplished player, she plays guitar, bass, and drums and does a lot of special studio work for a small indie label in the US working with newly signed artists. She’s also a terrific lead singer and backup vocalist. She has two full-length albums and three EPs out. Her original songs are well-thoughout and beautifully delivered, offering fresh takes on relationships. Like the Sisters3, her music has been lumped into acoustic or folk. It’s really more acoustic indie. - Music Up Close with Janie

Bio
Hi there, thanks for stopping by.
My name's Katie and I'm a British multi-instrumentalist & songwriter who recently moved to Austin, Texas.
I'm proudly endorsed by Takamine Guitars, Schlagwerk Percussion, L R Baggs and Logarhythm. I was also asked by Roland Systems Group to road test/review their VR3 audio/video mixer.
As well as writing and performing my own material I am currently co-writing songs with Phil Gould (Level42), Dan Cassidy (Eva Cassidy's brother) and Henry Priestman (The Christians).
Last year (2013) I was asked by Baltimore based Disappear Fear to play drums/cajon on their US tour. We played in 18 different states over 2.5 months.
Also in 2013 I played cajon at some shows for Martin Barre (Jethro Tull), one of which was a BBC event aired live over the radio.
Over the past 19 years I've gigged all over the UK and Europe - I've completed many tours in Germany, one of which was a 3 week tour with Elli Erl (winner of the 2nd season of German Idol). I also co-wrote an EP with Elli last year in Cologne and this will be released some time this year.
I was commissioned by Ulm CSD to write a theme song for their event, it was a lot of fun.
In 2012 I won Best Acoustic Act at the 2012 South West Music Awards (UK) and in 2010 I won the Singer/Songwriter Contest held in Leipzig (Germany).
I have my own studio back in the UK where I have recorded all my own music for the past 10 or so years. Everything you hear in my music player was performed and recorded by me in my studio (vocals, drums, guitars, bass guitar, keys).
Thanks for reading this far, feel free to get in touch with any questions!
