FOXY DANGEROUS LIVE PERFORMANCES - LIVE VIDEO
Sometimes a really fascinating little mix makes for the perfect formula for a new cool-aid drink, and sometimes the blender spits out something brown/gray and faintly smelling of stale crackers. In case you haven’t got the point, that’s bland. Bland. I won’t hold out- Foxy Dangerous is oddly quiet melodically yet so focused and attentive you can’t help but be enthralled and drawn into their formula.
Foxy Dangerous are right out of Austin Texas, the breeding ground for musical acts that encompass all areas of the sound palette. The Foxy Dangerous formula includes the rock and roll staples, yet unlike most contemporaries, they additionally include the imposing and elegant voice of Maranda Stamm. Stamm never directly belts out and overwhelms the songs, keeping the focus on the entire instrumentation as opposed to keeping the spotlight on her. It’s an interesting stylistic choice, made even moreso by the instrumentation itself, lacking dual guitars, opting to instead keep the sound streamlined with a single guitar. You can’t help but admire the choice, and it makes for something engagingly fresh.
In all, Foxy Dangerous makes for a dangerous choice of sounds. With a female voice, they manage to add a certain flair and swagger honed and manifested entirely by Stamm’s presence. The group back themselves by signature metal/punk riffs and some of the best drumming out of the Austinindie scene by Cody Grifffin. As far as the songs themselves, Give and Take really provides Stamm an effectual backing to showcase a more melodic side, yet she manages to balance sultry with quaint- with superb results.
So as we pour out the confection, we don’t particular have anything familiar or relative to anything else, but a wholly satisfying creation none the less. Foxy Dangerous are playing an exquisite game of indie fortitude by offering simplistic metal ethos over the crooning voice of a star-studded female, and we can only hope the formula sticks to potential fans at an international level. - Culture Tease
If no one told you, you would never think that Foxy Dangerous' performance last weekend at the VIP Bar came directly after a grueling 12-hour studio session. This band never ceases to impress with their live energy that assaults your preconceptions of modern music.
Lead singer Maranda Stamm struts around the mic, hitting every note and entertaining the crowd with stories behind the songs and lyrics. Her vocals glide curiously, yet perfectly, over the band behind her. Usually this kind of voice is found less in rock and more in R&B, but the band bends genres to produce many ear worms and hooks that sound fresh and original.
Female-fronted rock receives a new burst of energy with this band. They seem to be catching on quite quickly with the audience, too. Maranda definitely draws the gazes of the male members of the crowd, and the females present show much interest as well. If you are looking for a live band to see that will not sound like any other local band (or national band, for that matter), check out their website at www.foxydangerous.com - The Communicator

RECENTLY HAND-PICKED BY SLASH (Ex GUNS N ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) TO OPEN FOR HIM AND HIS SOLO BAND IN AUSTIN, TX AS PART OF HIS 2012 APOCALYPTIC LOVE WORLD TOUR!
Foxy Dangerous creates a stimulating live experience with original rock music, performed passionately with soulful vocals and infectious guitar-driven melodies.
Formed in early 2011 with the goal to complete an album before the summer, these hard-working, young musicians are currently racking up plenty of live experience by entertaining eager crowds.
The first album, released in May 2011, showcases 11 original songs that provide a surprising take on rock ‘n roll. Recorded in Fort Wayne, IN before taking flight for Austin, TX, the album grooves with soulful, silky vocals over a stripped-down rock template consisting only of guitar, bass, and drums.
2011 saw Foxy Dangerous playing various gigs around Texas while building a fan base inspired by the group’s hard rock roots and pop sensibility.
This year (2012), the group recorded and released a few new singles. Unofficial Showcases during the 2012 SXSW Festival also brought much international attention to the band and helped pave the way for several high-profile appearances including opening for Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, as well as Foxy Shazam, at Austin's legendary Stubb's BBQ. Foxy Dangerous was selected to perform at the Fall 2012 Old Pecan Street Festival.
Current plans include solidifying a fan base in the state of Texas - by branching out to other great cities like San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston, all while working towards international ambitions. The most important part of this experience is sharing a love for the music, attitude, and spirit of rock 'n roll with every audience.
