Springfield, Missouri native Elly Swope is the brains behind Focus! Focus!, a solo project started in January 2009. A multi-instrumentalist, Swope had played in several bands in the Springfield music scene before deciding to take control of the music she creates by writing and recording her own songs. Under the moniker Focus! Focus! -- a name chosen as a constant reminder to hold onto a dream, and an acknowledgement of the work it takes to do so -- she wrote and performed all the parts on her debut album, The U.L.O.B.
After living and playing in Los Angeles for 2 years, Swope now resides in Portland, OR where she is preparing her second release, Wester, an album of 14 songs and 14 short stories to be released in 3 episodes over the course of 2015. The album was funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign, and recorded in Swope's home studio.
