Fiyamiah

Fiyamiah, is an underground rhythm and poetry artist residing in Austin, TX since 2007, originally hailing from the Gashouse (Gastonia), North Carolina.

A hip-hop lover from the womb, Fiyamiah listened to his mother's jams from Kurtis Blow, Run DMC and MC Lyte before even first seeing the light of the morning sun.
Born in '86 he grew up loving the black music culture developing and evolving around his neighborhood and the entire US.

Personally influenced by N.W.A, Snoop, Pac and Dre, the pioneers of G-funk gangster rap. His first introduction to the mic came in 2005 as a source of fun with the homies. A way to take away the daily stresses of the Urban life. However, after losing peers to hard time in the pen and death by the gun forced him to re-evaluate his surroundings and pursue a vessel for change. His high school mentor gave him a chance for change in 2007.

Alone he left the Gashouse west to the Great state of Texas, finding change and a full-time job. Quickly he became unhappy with the everyday hustle and witnessing impostors infiltrating the game, he felt compelled to pick up a pen and pad the summer of 2010. Taking a vow to keep his lyrics genuine and never forgetting those still knee deep in the struggle.
