StoneBaby - "Just Another Day" (2008)
All songs written and arranged by Scott Philipp except "Give Until It Hurts" and "Spaceman and the Monkey", written by Craig Simon.

This sophomore release from Scott Philipp and The StoneBaby Band is rather more relaxed and laid-back than their premier release, "Delusions Of Grandeur".
"Just Another Day", the title track, is a lyrical love song; polished and professional, it looks at the sameness of love in a long-term setting without denying the constant renewal of excitement.
The second track, "Guinnevere" is a paean to Scott's daughter; slow and melodic, it follows her through the typical day of a young child who still sees magic in the
everyday world.
"P.S. I Love You" continues the laid-back matter-of-fact feel with a soulful chorus.
"Give Until It Hurts"
More energy, with an excellent acoustic guitar lead by composer Craig Simon.
"One Fing (It's Too Late)"
A redefinition of much-loved catalog classic 'One Finger', which looks at the difficulties of romance in the public eye.
"Tomorrow" has nice popsy melodies, and continues the relaxed feel.
"Spaceman and the Monkey"
The second track composed by Craig Simon, long-time guitar professional (and it shows); beat-driven and funky.
"Signs"
Another song from Scott's catalog refinished with a less frenzied feel.
"Silent Movie"
A newer addition to the catalog, this has a very haunting, nostalgic feel - laid back and melancholy.
Overall, a worthy effort. The tunes and lyrics remain in your head quite handily, and don't be surprised to find yourself humming bits as you go about your everyday life.
Top Track: "Silent Movie"
If you haven't tried "Delusions Of Grandeur", give that a whirl as well, to better appreciate the range and style in Scott Philipp's catalog. A third collection is
expected for release next year to showcase some of the more energetic titles the band has.

Here goes:
"Delusions of Grandeur" is an album that doesn't have to grow on you but grabs your musical senses from the first cut and doesn't let go. The CD includes songs ranging from head boppin'-toe tappin'-finger snappin'-steeringwheel slappin' rock to haunting simplicity. You'll experience a range of musical emotions from "God this is great stuff" to wanting to grab your special someone and dance closer than you ever have before. There are no "filler" tunes here. Each cut carries it's own weight and brings something special to this remarkable collection.
