Con la idea de fusionar los géneros y combinar la música tradicional mexicana, la cumbia, con otros sonidos como el rock, Fero llega a la escena discográfica con su álbum debut, Efluvios, que es una radiografía de su espíritu artístico.
¿Cuál es tu propuesta?
“Un género definido, pues todavía no lo hay, hay quien lo está comenzando a llamar ‘charrock’ o ‘rock-tequila’, apenas se le está bautizando, y es la fusión de nuestra música tradicional mexicana, rancheras, norteñas, cumbias, ritmos latinos con el rock”.
¿Cómo surgió la idea de hacer estas fusiones?
“Porque la idea es la de mostrar quién soy yo. Yo me crié entre caballos, muy apegado en la charrería, pero mi formación musical fue en el rock, entonces quiero mostrar mis gustos, y por otro lado mis composiciones”.
¿De dónde eres?
“Yo soy chiapaneco, pero mi familia materna es de Monterrey, entonces viví en Chiapas, Monterrey y en el DF. Yo comencé a tocar a los diez años, cuando un tío me regaló mi primera guitarra, a los 14 años formé mi primera banda de rock y comencé a estudiar canto y música”.
¿Cuánta experiencia tienes?
“Ya tengo 22 años sumergido en la música, y las ideas han sido varias, los proyectos también, y creo que de todo esto, este álbum es un proyecto con madurez porque tiene mucha calidad.
¿Cuáles son tus primeros pasos con este disco?
“Primero darlo a conocer en mi país, por eso el 24 de febrero lanzaremos este disco en El Imperial de Álvaro Obregón, presentaremos nuestro show en vivo, y de ahí a hacer calendario en el DF y estados aledaños. Buscamos con todas nuestras fuerzas salir a Europa, y uno de los productores es muy allegado a Peter Gabriel, y por ahí se nos abre una ventana para poder aspirar a un festival o a una gira de clubes”.
¿Cuántas canciones incluye tu material y cuáles crees que son las más destacadas?
“Son 12 canciones, cada una tiene su encanto, son 12 tracks, de los cuales hay una canción que viene en inglés y en español, un cover de los Stranglers, metemos vihuelas, trompetas, acordeones, violines soneros, conjugados con los ambientes electrónicos, con las guitarras más rockeronas, entonces yo le tengo un gran amor a la canción oaxaqueña Dios nunca muere, que es una versión suave y reflexiva con la participación del maestro Javier Mandayapa en la marimba, y también hay otros temas como la cumbia de los luchadores, pero creo que todos los temas son destacados”.

Fero nació en Chiapas y se crió al ritmo de marimbas que tocaban “Dios nunca muere” en su natal Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Luego, de joven, descubrió y cultivó el gusto por el rock.
Estos datos de su biografía explican la propuesta musical que presentará el 24 de febrero en el Imperial con su primer disco, Efluvios. Varias fusiones son su propuesta; publica este primer álbum luego de “22 años de esfuerzo”.
Con Norberto Islas, productor de Pepe Aguilar, Rocío Durcal y muchos otros, comenzó la idea de fusionar rancheras con rock. Grabaron el disco en el estudio de Pepe Aguilar y comenzaron a presentarse en diversos lugares de la República. Además de rancheras y cumbias, el disco incluye canciones compuestas por él.

El cantante mezcla temas tradicionales mexicanos con el rock- El
cantante mexicano Fero propone el "charrock" como género a
través de su álbum debut "Efluvios", en el cual, bajo la producción
de Neil Sparkes, mezcla la música tradicional mexicana con el
rock. "Es una fusión de nuestras raíces, tradiciones y cultura con
la parte reflexiva del México de hoy. Este proyecto nació cuando
me dedicaba a tocar en todos lados y por azares del destino
conocí a Norberto Islas, un gran ingeniero que ha ganado
algunos premios Grammy", explicó. Ambos procuraron hacer de
"Efluvios" un material que mostrara la música regional, pero
desde otra óptica, por lo cual construyeron temas con diversos
instrumentos como guitarrones, vihuelas, marimbas,

He presents himself in this first album without any masks, betting on authenticity, displaying this multiplicity of arris that are part of his musical array which during this musical encounter with Neil Sparkes ( Temple of Sound) give life to a fusion of rhythms and sounds that surprise us with new songs in each track.

WHO is F E R O ?
Born in the city of Tuxtla Gutierrez in the state of Chiapas in Mexico in the heart of a Mexican music loving family; grew up in a constant contact with the Charro Festivities, listening to traditional Mexican music (Norteña , Mariachi , Son ,etc) gave way to the opportunity to take the best from the different Mexican musical trends from the different geographical areas of his country. At the age of ten, an uncle of his, owner of a musical instrument shop gave him his first acoustic guitar which set him on the path that would become his passion.
At the age of fourteen he forms his first R&R Band: MIGRAÑA (migrane) in which Carlos Alberto Iturralde internationally re-known academic musician forms part of the Rock band; during this period MIGRAÑA is playing at re-known Mexican
places like ROCKOTITLAN and EL HIJO DEL CUERVO among other famous places.
F E R O recognizes that he has the diverse influence of musical trends as much as he recognizes that this same diversity is in his musical compositions and interpretations that go from Rock, Traditional Mexican music to Latin American Rhythms.
This influence stems from musicians that made an impact in his musical life such as Pearl Jam¡¦s grunge, Pink Floyd¡¦s classic rock as well as the Giant of the Norteño style music Ramon Ayala as well as Pedro Infante, Antonio Aguilar ,
Franco Corelli, Mario del Monaco and The Sonora Dinamita among others.
Efluvios
Recorded in Mexico city in 2007, in a three month period at Ranch Factory and Neo Audio Studio.
Efluvios, reflects the Mexican diversity character of today in which joy, nostalgia and reflection are found in harmony in this musical expression as in life itself.
Once the masters had been finished, these were sent to England so that Neil Sparkes
(re-known musician and producer of Real World) could appreciate it, who enthusiastically came down to Mexico for the record production . The next step was to select from among the enormous amount of topics ranging from other creations as well their own, old and modern which with the creation of Efluvios would end up with.

Another of Fero´s creations . With an air of festivity and irreverent lyrics and is another sample of an asserted sonority combination of ranchero and norteño music with the electro-acoustic guitar strumming like a bajosexto.

A rearrangement in spanish of The Stranglers song Always The Sun respecting the desolation and reflexive feeling of the original song that is transferred to our own temper only to provide at the end a positive way out
