This record starts off with a very nice musical number with samples talking about the state of our society. The song then moves into a more modern hardcore intro that sounds a lot like Champion. Then the next thing I notice is how good the vocals sound. Lead singer Zach has a very powerful voice without having to scream. His voice has a quality to it that makes you take notice to the fact that he actually has something to say and that you should listen. Eyes Fall Open reaches out to all parts of the punk hardcore scene to bring you their fast, melodic hardcore with lyrics that deal with polital as well as social issues. Excellent first release from this Denver band. I expect a lot from this band in the future.

Eyes Fall Open has had no problem getting their start. After forming in the spring of 2007, Eyes Fall Open got a jump on writing songs and playing some shows. After almost a year of writing they made a music video for the song "Street Knowledge" and then recorded their debut album, "The Twenty Year Rebellion," at the punk rock recording studio 8 Houses Down with the help of Matt Van Leuven and Jeff Merkel. The album was self released on October 4th, 2008 and shortly thereafter, they hit the road for a short west coast tour. Eyes Fall Open writes fast melodic songs about self and society struggles that are political and also touch down on the rights of animals as well as the rights of others.
