"Indie Alternative/Acoustic Band Exile Sessions pours their heart, passion, soul, and imagination into their music"

Indie Alternative/Acoustic Band Exile Sessions pours their heart, passion, soul, and imagination into their music. This is obvious with great tracks such as “Soar (Over Me)" which showcases the diversity and craftiness of the band’s music. We were delighted to interview Exile Sessions about their amazing sound and get more details on the magic of the band. Here is what formulated from our online meeting. Enjoy!

Isaac: Music is so important to many cultures. Why is music important to you?

Exile Sessions: Music is so important to us because it creates a healthy distraction and it is fun. It also helps to know that if we're feeling something, there is someone out there that feels the same and wants to "write it down".

Isaac: What do you believe is the one element that makes your music, lyrics, and voice stand apart from others in the Indie Music Industry?

Exile Sessions: What makes Exile Sessions stand out is that we truly have little knowledge of current trends. This causes us to just go with our hearts when writing, recording and performing. We never say,"what would The Lumineers do?" They do their thing, we do ours. That also carries over to the lyrical content.

Isaac: If you have to name a few of your musical influences, who would they be and why?

Exile Sessions: Our biggest musical influences include R.E.M, Joseph Arthur, The Rolling Stones, Peter Gabriel, Air Supply, Van Halen, Metallica, Candlebox, Black Lab, Depeche Mode, Eagles, and Third Eye Blind.

Isaac: What makes being an Indie Performer great in your opinion?

Exile Sessions: The things that make being an indie performer great –
1. Generally, a percentage of a crowd that you play to will NOT be there for you. You get to try and win them over; this unleashes qualities in you that you didn't think you had. You tend to GO FOR IT more. This wins people over and you get closer to discovering WHO YOU ARE as an artist.
2. You get fans who are not fickle. They genuinely love what you do and what you are about.
3. You get to write whatever you want however you want and ignore people’s opinions - because EVERYONE has an opinion!

Isaac: What do you believe will it take for indie performers to gain the recognition as their mainstream counterparts?

Exile Sessions: In the words of the great soul band, "The O'Jays", money - money - money, MO-NEY!

Isaac: Why do you believe that mainstream radios are so reluctant to play indie music?

Exile Sessions: Again, haha, in the words of the O'Jays ...........$$$

Isaac: What do you believe is the main reason why your music is creating a buzz in the Indie Music Scene?

Exile Sessions: The reason that Exile Sessions are creating a bit of buzz is a ton of hard work. Believe me; we are really no better than anyone else doing their thing. We try to keep in mind that music tends to be a 10 percent industry, meaning; 10 percent of what you go for will pan out. If you shoot at 1000 opportunities, then 100 will call you back and then 10 will actually do something for you. And out of that 10; hopefully you will have one very strong connection. I do believe that we really are different in these times in the sense that we try to remain a bit enigmatic in a sea of people who are putting every single detail of their lives out there. Maybe that’s a refreshing change for some?

Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with anyone in the music business, who would it be and why?

Exile Sessions: Wow- That list is heavy. If we had to pick one ....We'd love to write a song with Martin Gore. That would be amazing.

Isaac: How would you describe your music to others who are not familiar with your band?

Exile Sessions: Our music is like sticking an M-80 firecracker inside a soothing cup of Chamomile tea. And the ONLY way to figure out what I mean is to press play!

Isaac: What are you currently working on at the moment with respect to your music?

Exile Sessions: Right now we are finishing our debut EP entitled UNREQUITED LOVE PARADE. We are also rehearsing for the Make Music Harvard Square Festival which will happen on June 22.

Isaac: How can fans learn more about you and your music online?

Exile Sessions: The best way to learn about us online, aside from amazing blogs and sites that are gracious enough to feature us (like Juniors Cave is our official Sonicbid’s page www.sonicbids.com/exilesessions. It works just like an official website and has link to Facebook and Bandcamp

Isaac: Final Words….

Exile Sessions: Music on any level used to be a place where you could escape and daydream. You could be inspired and you could really learn who you were. Now, for better or worse, it is a product. Music is Coca Cola. It is not a terrible thing. You can put Coca Cola in Rum AND in ice cream and make something amazing. Just do what you want with it. Music wil - Juniors Cave

Bio

Exile Sessions is like sticking an M-80 firecracker into a soothing cup of chamomile tea. If you are young, fresh and worldly wise then your parents are sure to love us(<---A Joke). We formed in 2013 in Boston MA. with the mission of sounding like a midnight drive underneath an open moonroof.

We've just finished our debut EP which boasts 3 songs produced by Boston's finest producer Taylor Barefoot (who has worked with Peter Gabriel and King Krimson bass master Tony Levin ,Grammy winning guitarist Will Ackerman)
The EP is a digital distribution only release with global availability though physical copies will circulate for promotion and press.

We are hitting it hard in 2013 and wont stop. Ever!
Mere months after our formation our debut single SOAR (Over Me) reached the top 5 on the legendary Boston Emissions radio show where it stayed for 4 weeks. Shorty after this triumph we were invited to play the popular Make Music Harvard Square Festival and received a feature in Zimbio magazine which has an online readership of 3 million people.
We have been warmly received by several online independant music blogs and the details are posted in the press section of our press kit.
