We are always so proud of all of the amazingly talented models we represnt, and the ventures they passionatly take on. Holly started a charity, Isabella amazes with her powerful voice, and now Kauri, who sings and plays the bass for an alternative rock band called Evoli just took our breath away.How talented can you be? It is refreshing to hear a local band that you can’t compare to someone else’s music. They are both relaxing, yet their music can be danceable. The band plays well together; each member is confident in their musicianship, and blend well together as a whole. Bio
Evoli is a family- a slightly insane band-family- and we specialize in entertaining. We are a bunch you can’t forget- even if you wanted to. With four songwriters contributing to our set list, we have a diverse range of sounds- all including the undeniable and unique Evoli twist. We can’t explain the ways in which we find ourselves hilarious or how our music will keep you with your music player on repeat; you’ll just have to trust us.
Recent achievements for Evoli include mentions and praise from CS Magazine, Chicago Scene Magazine, Chicago Collection Magazine, and many more that were in attendance for Chicago’s leading modeling agency’s (Factor Women and Chosen Management) annual fashion show in April in which Evoli provided the entertainment and runway music for. The band has many shows scheduled for the summer with a fall tour in the works as well as the skeleton of their next album that will be released in 2012.
EVOLI \ ee-voh-lee\
Definition: A quintet hailing from McHenry, IL, with a list of musical influences so long, that attempts to classify the band’s genre often result in injury.
Origin: Childhood friends and the founding members, Annie and Jeff, birthed Evoli when they put their musical talents together eventually producing their EP, Fight or Flight and first album, Wake up. Over the years the duo had gone through many member line-up changes until they stumbled upon this formula with Brian, Kauri, and Jeremy that seemed to fit oh-so nicely. Following the release of Evoli’s Big, Black & Beautiful Record, Annie went on to pursue her other passions and Evoli adopted local songstress Dakotah Rose to complete the beautiful transformation into the suburban super-group that it is today.
We are DIY experts, in that we produce our own records, personally design all of the artwork featured throughout our work, create our own fliers and t-shirts, and book all of our shows ourselves; and it’s a miracle none of us are bald yet. We’ve played at weddings, parties, at universities, in hookah lounges, in bars, on stages, on beaches, and in basements, over time molding us into performance professionals.
Following their recent prosperous release show in Chicago at The Elbo Room, Evoli hosted an album release party at their home venue, Swing State, in Lake Villa that was a smashing hit, drawing nearly two hundred attendees and filling the venue to the brim in negative six degree weather! The special extended
hour and fifteen minute set featured a live performance of each of the album’s fifteen genre bending songs along with a few tracks from Evoli’s previous record Wake Up.
Evoli’s Big, Black & Beautiful Record compiles a meld of ear pleasing melodies into a symphonic rollercoaster of arguable musical perfection. Evoli’s unique and unrivaled trademark sound is the perfect combination of acoustic guitar, piano, dueling guitar solos, and harmonized vocals all tied together with lyrics that’ll reach into your chest to strum your hearts for you. Listening to this album will take you on a journey that’ll lift you up, throw you down, then pick you back up again and carry you home.
