Within the bounds of the music industry, the Internet has emerged as the paramount vehicle of choice for up and coming as well as established artists. The sheer breadth and scope of the net’s reach is virtually limitless, and no one knows this better perhaps than Dallas-based pop rockers Evan Spade. And the pairing of “Internet-to-band” is a fortuitous match in that Spade’s work ethic seems to share the same limitless bounds as those of the net. To list his web-based accolades and media ventures would require a separate review.
Melody and musicality are the presiding facets of the tracks I have heard thus far (as of press time, Spade’s bio states he is currently in the studio finishing the album). However, it is important to note that the released tracks are garnering the aforementioned accolades; and a lot of them. Album standout “Human Cannonball” is radio-friendly pop goodness at its best. Spade’s lyrical poignancy and vocal delivery are enveloped nicely in rock riffs, backing keys and appropriate crescendos and decrescendos. The piano and vocal intro to “NYC” showcases that Spade has equal command of both his “instruments.” His tenor vocals wax and wane between gruff whispers and near falsetto ranges with equal ease. “Joyride” again features their pop rock leanings, with Spade’s vocals at the forefront. Clever intermittent guitar work and a solid rhythm section foundation round out the track that is bound for a standard radio rotation.
Spade has perfected the formula for the three-and-a-half minute song—the hooks and melody carry equal weight and tend to stay with you long after the track has ended. The available tracks (along with the recognition they have already received) are testament to the fact that the product that Spade is selling certainly has people buying.

Playing countless shows in Texas and appearing on radio shows and
TV/films in LA,
Evan Spade has been receiving the recognition he deserves. With a traditional rock sound that everyone loves, i can compare Evan Spade to bands such as The Academy Is… and Matchbox
Twenty. He has a classical pop rock sound that you hear on the radio
once and it’s stuck in your head all day.

the catchy Human Cannonball landed in the hands of legendary DJ, Billboard Award Winner and Texas music personality Redbeard, producer/host of the nationally syndicated show In The Studio who proclaimed:

"Where We Are" screams Hot AC radio. The verses set up the chorus beautifully. It feels like an open the windows, the sunroof or put top down and enjoy the warm summer day kind of song. I like the lyrical content and the story of the song. Nice work guys! - Holly Hutchison, A&R
Evan Spade's self-titled E.P. is a pop-rock, easy listen. With pop-writing success like Butch Walker, I'd imagine Spade in the same formulaic school. His songs are extremely polished, and come across like a mastered musical equation. Each instrument seems well placed and finished with a sonic gloss.
Spade's tenor vocals are clear and understood as he moves from strong rock choruses, to floating falsetto. Everything he sings seems to stick in your head. Especially in NYC and Joyride, Spade sculpts his 3.5 minute pop-rock songs most carefully.
It's a true LA sound coming from a Texan. Whether as a solo artist, or writing for other artists, i'm sure we'll be hearing more from Evan Spade.

Meet Philadelphia rocker Evan Spade – a Canadian export that’s been catching some nice BUZZ from some Grammy-nominated producers and fans alike with his catchy radio friendly pop tracks. With his focus heavily on writing great songs and getting them out there on the Internet, his strategy seems to be working. Enter Grammy nominated producer Alex Gerst (Ellie Goulding) who recently produced several sessions with Evan producing the song “Where We Are” which has just landed Mr. Spade in one of the top spots in the 2015 Guitar Center’s Get Out of the Garage contest.
Alongside his long-time songwriting partner, Bart Van Bemmel – the winner of the VH-1 Rock Across America Best Unsigned Songwriter Competition, the sound they’ve created has been described as a candy coated U2 meets the Police and The Script. With Spade’s relentless push to get his music out there from behind his computer, he’s not only seen his on-line fan base grow, but they have helped his tracks get spins on radio stations around the U.S., Canada, and Europe, as well as garnering the attention from the Billboard Award winning DJ – Redbeard from the show In the Studio.
After bringing home various songwriting honors from the USA Songwriting Competition, International Songwriting Competition, and the Great American Songwriting Contest to name a few, Evan Spade’s vision has never changed – to write the perfect song. Spade is currently in the process of working on his debut Independent release and bringing his music to not only your computer, but a stage near you.
