Inspired by the legends of 50s-90s country and bluegrass, Eric Kinsey and the Busted Valentines are not your typical throwback sad bastards so prevalent in today's country scene. The band deals a heavy dose of swaggering twang bangers akin to a freight train. Propelled by chunking rhythm guitar, snappy drums and rumbling bass with a pizzicato cat fight of Telecaster and pedal steel sprinkled on top. Vocals range from a Cash-esque baritone to Monroe high lonesome. This is fiercely classic country music distilled to its most essential elements with an energy and vibe akin to a half remembered old record missing from your collection. Eric Kinsey's original songs form the core of the sound, borrowing from tradition updated with a contemporary approach, at turns wistful, swinging, reflective and exuberant.
