...[England in 1819] has quickly won me over with their ability to bring the best aspects of both melodic, ambient rock and classical compositions and blend them into something chilling and beautiful. - The Blue Indian

England in 1819 blends together pop sensibility and classical arrangement for a wall-of-sound effect that brings to mind the swelling atmosphere of Icelanders Sigur Ros and the driven momentum of turn of the century Radiohead. - Legacy - LSU Student Magazine

I haven't felt this stunned by something in a long time. Your music has a certain... relaxing, 'everything is going to be okay' kind of effect on it. Your wonderful music and the moving video really made an impact on my day. Thanks! - Reddit

I can’t really remember the last time I sat through a whole music video...I can’t tell you exactly what drove me to this feat of concentration, or even why this song from Baton Rouge act England In 1819 held me transfixed, but it has. - Mp3 Hugger

Their music is very hauntingly beautiful and definitely a successful experiment in destroying musical conventions and creating a sound that speaks to the creativity and innermost thought processes of the band as a whole... - Blisterpackzine

Bio
Lifelong travelers, Andrew and Dan Callaway have spent the past 5 years in Baton Rouge, honing their sound. Originally a 9 piece experimental/orchestral group, the duo now use electronics to create their unique 'grandwave' sound. Andrew's smooth vocals and Dan's soaring french horn present an intriguing contrast to their thick synths and pounding beats. Their live show includes custom lights and lasers that flash and swirl to a mix of mellow ambient textures and huge electronics-infused swells.
After a year of extensive touring, the pair spent the summer isolated in a cabin in North Carolina, where they wrote and recorded Fireball Electric Tomorrow.
Andrew and Dan grew up in the English countryside, playing in rock bands on the weekends with their father. Their musical talents led them naturally into the world of classical music and the family moved back to the US to take advantage of more educational opportunities. Andrew studied composition and Dan studied French Horn, both at conservatories in Ohio. After a few years of travel and exposure to a withering classical scene, Andrew returned to his roots, both geographically and musically, moving back to the South and finding new life in the energy, accessibility and creativity of indie rock.
Atmospheric textures float seamlessly across new wave electronics, post-rock swells and dream-croon vocals.
