Nashville, Tennessee (September 12, 2011) – Surpassing the competition at the 30th Annual Texaco Country Showdown Florida State Final, Emily Brooke proved worthy of the state title and $1,000. The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park showcased acts which had won a local contest sponsored by radio stations throughout the state enabling each to perform at the state level competition of America’s largest country music talent search.
Emily Brooke, representing radio station WOKC of Okeechobee, took home top honors at the state level event. She recently released 3 songs on iTunes and is currently working on her full length CD. Other sponsoring radio stations were: WQHL Live Oak, WKIS Miami, WWKA Orlando, WXBM Pace, WIYD Palatka, WAKT Panama City Beach, and WAVW Port St. Lucie.
On November 3, 2011, Emily Brooke will compete in the Southeast Regional Final at Cotton Eyed Joe in Knoxville, TN, to determine if she will advance to the National Final. Regional Winners will receive an all-expense-paid trip to in Nashville to compete for $100,000 and the coveted title, “Best New Act in Country Music.”
About the Showdown: Annually, over 450 radio stations across the country sponsor local contests. Winners advance to their state events where prizes include $1,000 and the opportunity to compete in one of five Regional events. The five Regional winners receive an all-expense-paid trip to the National Final in Nashville to compete for $100,000 and the coveted title, “Best New Act in Country Music.”

Upon hearing the music of Emily Brooke for the first time, my initial thoughts were along the the lines of, "she's pretty good." But then I began perusing her website and social media web pages, and I was absolutely blown away when I discovered that this girl with the beautiful voice is only 12-years-old!
Despite her age, Emily has proven that she is up to the task. She already does weekly shows in front of a live audience at a place called Hurricane Grill in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. She's even been known to do impromptu street performances in front of large crowds and the crowds always love her.
So, if stars like LeAnn Rimes can begin at such a young age and still manage to enjoy life, who's to say that this young lady can't make it to the top herself? After all, she's already following her dreams. We met this 11 year old budding country music superstar about a year ago after her performance at a local Chili festival. We met up with her again this past weekend at that same Chili festival. Emily Brooke has won the Florida State Title of" Best New Country Music Act" 2011 for Texaco Country Showdown She now goes on to compete in the Southeast Regionals in Knoxville, Tn Nov 3 Woo Hoo!!
Emily Brooke is a 12 y/o Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist. For such a young artist she has played an extensive amount of shows from South Florida to Nashville. In Nashville she has played famous venues such as Tootsie’s, Rippy’s, Big Shotz, Margaritaville, Nashville Palace, The Commodore, Picks, and was a guest for the Nixa Country Radio Show.
In South Florida she has played numerous fairs, festiv...als, and concerts. She has opened for such acts as Trailer Choir, Eli Young Band, Steve Holy, Kate & Kacey Coppola, Bucky Covington and more. She holds the title for 2009 Wellington’s Got Talent, was one of the state’s top 5 finalist for the 2009, 2010, and 2011 Colgate Country Showdown State Finalist, 2010 Colgate Country Songwriter winner, 2010 Starz of the future winner, and most recently won Palm Beach Idol 2011 and The Florida STATE Texaco Country Showdown 2011 to name a few accomplishments.
Emily Brooke has recently released 3 songs on I-Tunes. She is currently working on her new full length CD.
Emily is a very special, talented musician. She has the goal of being a sucessful country star. She is a hard working professional and plans on achieving this goal.
