Jermaine - The Crazy 88

If you're a fan of classic east coast rap then you're gonna love this. Jermaine spits out rhymes with humour, intellect and style, in a throwback style that makes you wish it was 1988 again. Go grab an mp3 from his bandcamp... Highly recommended.

"That new new....Jermaine "THE CRAZZY 88""

It’s not too often that we can get an artist to spit hella bars and get it right! Forget a good 16, he’s giving us 88! Check out this flawless victory from Jermaine with his track The Crazy 88.

This is the first single from this Trenton, New Jersey artist. We’re interested in hearing what else he’ll be giving us on his EP. We’ll keep you posted with further updates from him.

"Your PARTNER IN RHYME Supports....Jermaine- "The Crazy 88""

I'm feeling this.
Feels like the artists is right next to me spitting on a beat I just threw on.
Feels natural. Like I'm giving him daps after the punchlines.

"Jermaine- The Crazy 88"

Effortless relentless exhalation of bars, dude raps like a firebreathing dragon on here. And he’s from Jersey, always a plus in my book. Fans of classic east coast rap modes should be pleased.

"Jermaine- The Crazy 88"

Yeah we had no choice but to jack this from our a-alike blog Steadybloggin’. From what I can gather from the blogosphere, Jermaine hails from Trenton, NJ and is working on an EP. The title of this joint refers to the deadly ninja gang of Kill Bill, the number of bars that Jermaine effortlessly spits over a golden oldie breakbeat, and I have to imagine the 1988 rap era, when such displays of finesse and precision were the norm and not the exception (at least it is fun to remember it that way). This is pure rap fun for us grownups, enjoy it now if you’ve been sleeping.

"Check it...Jermaine "The Crazy 88""

"I'm a lyrical grenade / Throw me anywhere you think a rapper's putting a charade ..."

I heard this joint late last night. Khal over at RocktheDub hit me with it. I was immediately impressed by the throwback type of vibe Jermaine created on "The Crazy 88." The dude definitely flexes his lyricism on this joint. According to Khal, Jermaine is working on an ep. I'm interested in checking that out for sure. In the meantime, enjoy this track. Chea!

"Listen & Download: "The Crazy 88" Emcee Jermaine"

Emcee Jermaine is not new to the circuit. This Trenton native’s New York style is undeniable. Performing in New Jersey and NYC, he brings Hip Hop back to the “lyricist”. Boasting a track with an ”old school” feel to it, his single “Crazy 88? is definitely that jam. It reminds me of the 90's, a time when Hip Hop was real. His delivery, lyrics and track selection scream everything “Hip Hop”. Even though he’s been working on his next project for a minute, “Crazy 88? gives us a glimpse as to what we can expect next. If this first single is any indication, I would say this project is going to be a problem. The single is available on Bandcamp for a “Name Your Price” option. Definitely worth checking out and downloading. - ThaLadyBlogga.Com

"Emcee Jermaine "The Crazy 88""

One of my favorite scenes in Kill Bill is when the Crazy 88s enter and give The Bride a serious workout. Deadly acrobatic ninja ass mufuckas, flippin' styles effortless. Jermaine takes that mindset and shapes it into 88 bars of death, which you have here. I know you're mad that Trenton, and Jersey as a whole, breeds some of the dopest MCs out there. Jermaine makes it a point to kick his rhymes with intellect, humor and style - it's just some perfect Hip-Hop ish, with a beat that flips a CLASSIC breakbeat. You need this - and make sure you remember homey's name. It's simple. Jermaine, he's an MC. Jersey stays active...

I’d like to introduce you to a guy I have come to know to be one of the most supportive and progressive individuals in my immediate circle. The fact that I collaborated with him on a project says it all. Jermaine is simply an emcee. There’s nothing flashy about him. For him it’s all about flashing the message and doing it with passion. We shot this mini promo clip a week ago today in the Bronx. A true testament to his intent to get this done, I heard not one complaint from him during the two hours plus of reciting one verse in the hot sun and walking from the Bronx to Manhattan and back.

Jermaine is from Trenton, NJ, a far ways from the Bronx. I wholeheartedly support his efforts, creating awareness about his life as an emcee. His has shown nothing but dedication to cultivating his craft as well as being supportive to the burgeoning scene of new young artists in NYC. I hope that our collaborative work reaches appreciative ears and eyes and inspires.

Two more on the way.

Bio

Growing up on hip hop legends KRS-One and Chuck D, Emcee Jermaine used his early fondness of hip hop to experience music to the fullest. While learning early on from hip hop greats, Jermaine allowed himself exposure to other artists in various genres such as Stevie Wonder, Portishead, The Who, The Roots, and Nneka to gain inspiration. He writes truthfully making his own experiences a poetic escape, carrying the title emcee with little to no weight at all.
In 2011, this New Jersey native was the recipient of the Brooklyn Bodega Education Initiative Music Challenge earning himself a music class at the highly coveted Berklee College of Music which he happily accepted. Currently living in Philadelphia, PA, Emcee Jermaine is gaining a larger platform with his music-receiving regular rotation on KRS-Ones Temple of Hip-Hop radio show and Side-B on Princeton, New Jerseys WPRB 103.3 as well as a performance slot at the 2013 South by Southwest festival in Austin, TX. Emcee Jermaines music has appearances on popular music sites such as DJ Booth, Free Hip Hop Now, and The Mad Bloggers.
Emcee Jermaines latest project Jermaines EP (RTD Records, 2012), brings all of his accomplishments in a finely tuned 7-track (plus 2 bonus tracks) project. Stating his political opinions on the state of hip hop while also paying homage to the genre that molded him into the lyricist he is today, the EP is truly a hip hop gem.
Emcee Jermaine is currently working on an album titled Here set to release later this year. This album will show Jermaines pure dedication and talent to his craft while speaking not only on hip hop in rare form, but music in general.
